1 yI’m an Independent, but it’s probably fair to say I’m on the left in most things.
My issue with the Democrats, broadly, is maybe that they don’t always deliver what they promise and it sometimes feels like lip service. I largely agree with most of their positions in theory, but I’m disappointed that they don’t get more of it executed.
Some positions they hold aren’t “left” enough for me, and they try too hard to appear more moderate for fear of losing support, on progressive things I think really need to be pushed for.
Other times, I can find myself rolling my eyes with what they’re concerned about, in terms of being overly sensitive about words and terminology, that I may not even disagree with in principle, but you look kinda soft and will lose people with the fancy sociological technical jargon.
Like I fully agree with the concept of “microaggressions” and their impact, and it should be understood and talked about…. but I mean…. “microaggressions” …. lmfao, that just SOUNDS soft, it’s poor marketing. I’m sure it’s infinitely frustrating, but you need to tailor your message to the people who oppose you in order to convince them to change. And that sucks, but that’s how persuasion works, not just “You’re WRONG, I’m RIGHT, and HERE’S WHY!”, and then just verbally and socially browbeating them into submission.
I also think they don’t have enough fight in them, particularly vs MAGA. We’re in the dumbest timeline I’ve ever seen right now, absolutely INSANE ideas being pushed, BLATANT lies informing and powering the entire movement, and just a complete departure from reality. The Democrats should be dunking ALL OVER these assholes…. but they’re so committed to taking the high road and pulling their punches.
It should be the easiest thing in the world to be like “What they’re saying is literally based almost entirely in fallacy; they’re lying about everything under the sun, anything they aren’t lying about is at least blown up into a gross mischaracterization or exaggeration; the underlying attitudes are hateful ones that no decent human being should be proudly announcing out loud, let alone holding them in the first place; if you ask even a single follow-up question to the supporters that requires any sort of analysis or demonstration of a true foundational understanding of the issue beyond a slogan that fits on a t-shirt or a bumper sticker, they COMPLETELY fall apart, proving that they have no knowledge of the issues at hand and are just voting off of a “vibe”; said vibes are usually based in some sort of ignorant prejudice that deserves no validation; the leader of the movement makes OBVIOUSLY laughable propositions for solutions, if he provides one at all, and more often is just like “I’ll fix it to be better than anyone’s ever seen, TRUST ME, BRO”; just nobody on that side seems to have ANY fucking idea of what’s going on, from the supporters all the way to the top guy; and they just generally seem to have an eye to roll rights BACKWARDS, in the supposed Land Of Freedom…..
Kamala slapped that Brett Baier dude around (who I previously held more respect for, but apparently he’s not the “straight news” man I thought he was) for his dishonesty during their interview, called it out for the world to see, and it’s representative of the greater dishonesty going on in right wing circles. One of the traps he tried to lay out for her that she didn’t take the cheese on was when he tried to get her to call Americans “stupid” if they don’t support her. And I supposed in a razor-thin margined race like this, maybe that’s the safe play, and you don’t give them the “basket of deplorables” sound byte that Hillary did, not that she was talking about ALL MAGA voters if you listen to the quote, nor was she wrong…. but I get it in this situation.
But overall…. I’m disappointed that more Democrats DON’T call this shit stupid, because it just so clearly is. And that’s the MAIN way Republicans attack Democrats, calling them all sorts of names, challenging the male Democrats’ masculinity…. its quite literally the dumbest, most childish, elementary-school-level way to go about politics. Democrats are losing the meme war, lmao. It’s an even bigger problem that humans, usually our dumbest ones, are using memes to inform themselves politically because it’s easier than reading a proposed bill in its entirety. It’s getting to the point where I feel like the right to vote should be behind a firewall of a general media literacy and intelligence test. With social media what it is now, it’s just too easy to widely spread mis- and dis-information, which are both just euphemisms for “LIES”, and I wish we called those out more.
I just don’t think the Michelle Obama “when they go low, we go high” strategy is effective. People are dumb, people are intellectually lazy, and people respond way too much to peer pressure to just trust everyone to understand what’s going on. They also love confirmation bias, so if they’re already a little bit “-ist” or “-phobic” in some way, a wildly non-factual meme or Twitter post is all they need to believe it.
Tim Walz is too nice of a guy to attack JD Vance face to face how he should have in their debate. And Vance is likely a psychopath, lmao, he just chameleons into “nice guy JD Vance” when he’s on stage in front of a national audience juxtaposed to REAL nice guy Tim Walz, and he’s all “oh, I’m so sorry your son was present at a shooting”, “oh, if you win, I’ll do everything in my power to work with you and help you.” Get the ffffffffffffffFUCK OUTTA HERE😂😂😂 I’m not going for that okey-doke for one second. Show us the JD you are at the MAGA-friendly appearances🙄 Walz managed to salvage it at the end, drawing the “damning non-answer” about Jan 6th, but the rest of the time, it would’ve been so easy to just be like “that’s a lie. And that’s a lie. That’s also a lie.”
But for some reason, they just don’t call these people out as strongly as they should, presumably for the typical politician bullshit where they avoid definitive statements so they don’t lose any votes. Trump’s whole thing is Dollar Store insult comedy, so there’s no reason to be nice to him. He wins or stays competitive because he’s mean-spirited, and it entices other mean-spirited people. You HAVE TO win on that specific battlefield, and honestly, Gavin Newsom at Pete Buttigieg seem willing to trade punches.
So I just wish the Democrats had more fight in them, and would go for the kneecaps, because the fight is usually won by the dirtiest one fighting. I’m almost fully in agreement with their social agenda, but I just wonder how serious they are about fighting for it. It’s one of the main reasons I don’t respect the MAGA movement, but the rules are set by the dirtiest ones playing the game, so you’d better adapt.
But the deciding factor at the voting booth for me comes down to “I’d much, MUCH prefer undelivered promises from the Dems than seeing the Republicans’ promises come to fruition. Conservative social policy is my political mortal enemy, that’s really the bottom line for me.01 Reply- 1 y

1 yProbably their hypocricy and double standards. I was laughing when Kamala said on the news that Trump wants to destroy anyone who doesn't agree with him. She said that's not democracy. That's literally what Democrats have been doing for over a decade.

1 yTheir lack of logic. They are told that releasing murderers in the United States is a good thing, so they just believe it.

Then Obama went back on all his campaign promises and continued neoliberalism, which include wars of imperialism for profit. He promised to investigate 911 but didn't. He bailed out banks without gaining any benefits for citizens.
Then they disrespected the election process in 2016 by sandbagging Bernie and Tulsi. Instead they appointed Hillary. And when she lost to Trump, they went insane and spent 4 years trying everything possible to get him impeached. They said "Not my president."
Biden and Harris lost badly in the 2020 primaries, but the Democrats managed to appoint them anyway. Then they rigged the presidential election.
About 10 years ago, they started fanning the dying embers of racism and shaming "white" people for being too white.
They started glamorizing transvestites, encouraging trans-sexuality, indoctrinating school children with LGBT ideology, and pushing transitioning for minors. They refused to define the word "woman" and started treating trans-women as women.
They opened the southern border, started giving benefits to illegal aliens, and are working on giving them voting rights so that they will influence elections in favor of Democrats.
They lied about the covid pandemic and the clot shots. And they destroyed businesses and made people androphobic with their absurd mandates.
They justified rioting, vandalism, looting, arson, and the take overs of cities.
They try to mandate electric vehicles, electric appliances and 15 minute cities under the disingenuous claim of fighting climate change.
They ushered in inflation that further harmed average citizens. First it was due to covid and then climate change policies.
They support Patriot Act and NDAA policies.
They started the war in Ukraine, destroyed Libya, and support Israeli aggression and vicious genocide.
They disdain the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Everything they do seems to be for the purpose of spreading hatred, divisiveness, fear and chaos.
There is no longer anything that I like about the Democratic party even though I have liberal values and don't like the Republican party.00 Reply

everything from global warming to abortion to identity politics etc. all promoted under the false pretenses of being morally superior and projecting their evilness onto the opposition
normally I don't give a shit about them and try my best to empathic and tolerant to them while getting none from them in return, in many cases they try to take advantage of my empathy and tolerance and when I refuse, then comes cancel culture, attempted job firing, death threats, rape threats towards female family members, framing etc.

Anonymous(36-45)1 yFormer democrat here, I dislike that the Democratic party has become the party of hate. When I first became a Democrat, the party welcomed and respectfully debated differing views, now Democrats attack and smear everyone and everything they disagree with. Instead of trying to understand differing views and why people hold those views, they default attacking and smearing those views and people who hold them. Take the subject of abortion for example, many people who are pro-life, are not pro-life because they like controlling what a women can do with her own body, they are pro-life because they truly believe aborting an unborn fetus is murder and want to protect the unborn. Yet Democrats are so insistent that any who is pro-life is an evil monster who want's to control a woman's body when in reality many just view abortions as murder and want to protect the unborn.

1 yIt seems they think of something but can't process the in between and end results of that thing they are thinking of, their poor choice of judgement on presidency really put a dent in not just our economy but our society as well.

1 yI don't dislike Democrats. I was raised a Democrat, though I became an Independent many years ago. Both major parties have moved away from the center, making their policies more extreme.
