How many of you have watched the reality show "COPS"?

I'm watching it today for the first time ever. At times it's tragic and actually sad but at other times it is FRICKIN' hilarious 😂... I just watched a call dealing with an ex girlfriend breaking a No Contact order. I almost pissed myself I was laughing so hard. Do any of you ever laugh at the show? I know it's usually nothing to laugh about but it's nice to have some humor.

I had never really thought about police officers’ sense of humor until i went to jail. Spending my weekends in jail, i learned that “Cops” is on one basic cable channel or another, pretty much all day long. Cuz that’s what was always on in the dorm cell. Ell oh ell!
When people clued in to the show, they were inevitably saying shit like, “Hail naw! I woulda ran there, jumped over that and hid in there!”. I’m watching the exact same thing from the exact same jail cell as this dummy, thinking, “If you COULD have gotten away, why are you in jail with us now?”. Ell oh ell!

I have seen maybe 50 episodes over various seasons. I like the cop show format in general, but there are better versions of it, like The First 48.

I have watched the First 48 Hrs and like that show. It's actually interesting because it's about actually investigating crimes.

I never saw it but here in NZ we had a show called Police Ten 7, which was a show about following police here and what they deal with. Many episodes gave me a good laugh. There’s one episode where a super flamboyant gay man runs up to one of the cops (and is obviously very drunk) and asks them if they’ll pretend to arrest him for the show. They say no, and he says “what if I pretend that I've got drugs on me”, and they still say no. So he giggles and runs away down the street while squealing.

Lmao... The episode I just watched was in Vegas, you can probably only imagine the freak show it was! Their was a drunk "little person" that was doing gymnastics and climbing up a light pole! He was dressed as a cowboy, right down to the leather chaps and spurs.

It can be a menagerie of stupid human tricks so yeah, at times the only proper response would be laughter while screaming WTF? WTAF?
