If you were a billionaire, would you pick several poor people each year to invest a million for and let them have the dividends for at least a year?

I'd love to do things like that... find people whom are down and teach them to get their lives in order so they are in control again and successful.

Reailty is some people do that, and it is a hard job. When people are motivated, they can do it.

Most people you hand a million or the $40,000 interest... they'd lose it and be poor again.

I HAVE the motivation! I just DON'T have the know-how!!
All ya gotta do is put the money into a good stock, give them the checks from it and teach them how to invest some of it to get more out of it.
As for people blowing it, YEAH! THAT''S what they're GONNA do as soon as they get rich because they've never had the chance before! That's why, instead of just giving them the mil, you TELL THEM you're investing it FOR them and they get the dividend checks for a year. If they want these checks to keep rolling in, they have to invest some of those checks themselves!

yes, this is really just parenting and eduction. it's dooable in your own life and others. I started with nothing but education. the secret is staying out of debt. learnign to manage m oney, invest is key.

I'm good at staying out of dedbt... up until 6 years ago when I was forced into it!! And, again 2 years ago!!
I'm good at managing my money. At my last major job, I was only getting slightly more than minimum and ended up saving up over $20,000 in about 6 or 8 years.
What I DON'T know is what to invest in or how.

It sounds like you didn’t qualify, :D. It was a select set of people in some cities, some by local governments. Many of the recipients were minorities. It was a test and didn’t work out well.

THAT pisses me off!! Throwing MY tax money away on shit like that!! That's NOT why we pay taxes!!
3 years ago, I got about $42,000 from the sale of my last house and I still have about as much as she got and all I've done with the money is pay bills and taxes!! Okay, I DID spend SOME of it on myself, $20 here, $50 there but I CERTAINLY didn't WASTE any of it, like she did!!
Anyway, I'm NOT talking about tax money, I'm talking about rich people that won't miss a million here or there and will, most likely, get it back, eventually, investing it to help someone like me get through the rough patch I'm stuck in. And then, when those investments, and the ones I make, start coming back and make ME rich, I can do the same for someone else!
