When was the last good year in the United States?

I would say 2007 marked the last good year in the United States. Since the Obama era forward, things have really went to shit.

Since the 2010s, my family has really broken apart, morals have went out the window, we have been financially tight, and the polarized divide has gotten stronger.

Things were starting to look up a little during the Trump administration, but people were still very polarized. I was also experiencing a lot of mentally illness with frequent hospitalizations.

Here is the issue, the 10th Amendment of the constitution gives more power to the states. We shouldn't be relying on the federal government for state and local affairs. In fact, we should be holding state and local leaders more accountable. We don't go directly to a CEO when working for a large company. We normally address concerns with our direct supervisor. Same concept with government.

I get that "independence" approach, but in the end all these theorems and dogmas don't really help the people. Local level, state level and federal level have to work together. What's the point of being so independent while having piss-poor communities in Alabama, Louisiana or Mississippi?
The federal government has to do their part. Which, quite obviously, under Reagan they did not.

2020 things were still good in America even though we were in a pandemic. Things went downhill after that until we find ourselves living in a failing country.

Up until the Obama we were doing ok as a nation. Than Obama snuck in and the our once great nation in civil unrest

I was in 8th grade during the Obama election. I remember this uneasy feeling about it. Gut instinct even as a middle school kid knew something was wrong. I think a lot of people saw it coming. But there were also a lot of others who did not listen.
