Social media one is of the problems, the comparison of each of other, has huge affect. If he or she is seeing someone having a better life or doing well that will cause someone feel depressed, this also increase isolation among. We are isolating ourselves a lot more through social media.

The pressure from our peers, the opposite sex when it comes to dating, has an affect, whether a virgin or not a virgin will cause someone to feel worthless because they can't get someone through their problems.

Society often imposes high expectations regarding success, productivity, and personal appearance, leading to feelings of inadequacy and contributing to depression.

The increase in drugs has massive impact on mental health, and increases the risk of making your mental well being worse.

Financial pressure, its a lot hard to live nowaday, to expensive just to live to afford your own place, too expensive to rent.

Not enough opportunties for everyone, people coming of univerties and can't get a job, that will make you depressed.

The general lack of support from the health care system, through our family friends, make its hard to cope with life stresses. Having a support network is very important.

They do say, the pandemic we will have, is Mental health.

There is huge increase now of young men becoming lonely and using AI girlfriends to interact with, which is very sad. Male loneliness is at a all time high now.

every generation is less and less prepared for an independent life, for taking responsibility for themselves, for making an effort... so it hurts... when you have to make the decision and deal with the consequences, when you have to pay your bills and not buy a new playstation, when you have to put effort into learning or creating a relationship... and people succumb to depression... because life is so hard! and you have to work! and pay bills! and do many other things!

I was on antidepressants for three years after my mother died. Those really messed me up. Best thing I ever did was dump them against my doctor's advice

Antidepressants and/or anxiolytic are NOT supposed to be used forever, they are made for critical times, they are also NOT TO BE USED without therapy in mind. The purpose of antidepressants is to reach enough stability to undergo therapy. They are not solving any deep problems, this is just a temporary bandage for a reason.

Because we're Americans, we don't always see the Forrest for the trees. A friend visited me from another country. She asked why almost all the TV commercials were about drugs you NEED. And not only that, why do they always, quietly list the 47 side effects from that drug? And then a drug that takes care of one of the side effects, has its own 47 side effects.

I think part of it has to do with how absolutely glued people are to their phones these days, social media etc instead of actually going outside and going for walks once in a while, working out and other hobbies that used to be common

depressed people (different than depression) are like that bc of their life, so that's kinda on them

I think most of it is imagined. The Dr.'s are QUITE happy to hear you've POSSIBLY got SOME kind of ailment so they can push more pills onto you! They don't care or know shit about curing anything, all they know how to do is shove pills onto you and then, the pills cause other problems that make you need OTHER pills!!
