I've known of a few. the issue is... somebody is dying because of a messed up social situation.

A) she was too young in school... fooled around... and found out. Rather than be an 8th grader with a child, she ended it. note I didn't say him. He was a friend, fatherless, and a dangerous idiot. Reason he made the baby is he was hot looking. girls are kinda dunce...

B) marriage problems after he fooled around, so she fooled around... and got pregnant. She referred to it as "it" and wanted "it" gone. Isn't it amazing how ones mind makes the decisions. It is a baby when ya want it to be, otherwise not.

Like the bible says... again... this is an emotional issue. The wages of sin is death. The emotional issues result in physical death.

Those are references points for two lifes I know were taken, before they got to breathe. It was their decision in my view. I wasn't involved, and if they dont' want the kid, don't want to adopt them out... then what chance does that life have? The solution for life would be providing emotional security.

Again... it's an emotional issue... first. So the work is to build relationships, security so that women feel good about making life. The rest of the cases are those that may be suspect health wise.

I'm not involved in those either.

Hope you never have to make such decisions.

Rapists don't rape because they want women to get pregnant and give birth. The "research" you're citing is behind a paywall so I know you didn't read it to see the methodology. I was able to find an article in support of it from scientific American where they explained the methodology; however,
"The researchers obtained their findings by combining data from multiple sources. Because state-level data weren’t available, the team analyzed national data from a U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention survey on intimate partner sexual violence from 2016 to 2017. The researchers also used a Bureau of Justice Statistics survey on criminal victimization. Putting these together, they determined the number of completed vaginal rapes among girls and women of reproductive age—defined as between the ages of 15 and 45 (although some even younger girls and older women are also capable of pregnancy).
The authors generated state-level rape estimates by partitioning the national data according to state-level information from FBI crime reports, which included rapes that were reported to police in 2019. (A high percentage of rapes are never reported to authorities, but the CDC survey attempted to correct for this.) The researchers then calculated the number of state-level rapes that were likely to result in a pregnancy, controlling for the number of months that a total abortion ban was in effect."

In summary, they guessed the numbers of rapes that took place nationally, subdivided that into a guess on the amount of rapes that took place at the state level, then took that information and speculated a number that may have gotten pregnant, and then called that research rather than dogma. Quite humorous if you ask me and why the state of research is laughed at by everyone.

So, who will raise the child? Who will pay for the child's upbringing? Is the rape victim or teenage girl's family responsible for raising the child? When does the life of a child begin? “nobody’s business” is an oversimplification so I responded with a generalized statement. I think abortion should be allowed for cases like rape, as do most republicans. Otherwise the family should raise it or give it up for adoption. Life begins at conception, but if you want to make a vague philosophical argument then let’s say “potential for life” or something, a developing fetus might not be a normal “person” but it’s obviously alive. They're not getting taken up... because there isn't enough demand. If you believe that "life begins at conception," then we have a real problem. Most people have no clue what that is. Most women don't even realize that they are pregnant until way beyond 6 weeks. @Asker Well I generally don't want high taxes but I would be okay with a more robust fostercare system, and a lot of churches have programs to help women with childbirth for free even if they are poor or homeless. There's a more in-depth discussion to be had about what can be done for unwanted children to be had there. It's something that has to be dealt with whether or not abortion is legal.

As for the conception thing, when an egg is fertilized by sperm and it's possible for a fetus to develop, that is when life begins to me. I'm not really interested in the philosophy of what a "life" is, it's something that can grown into a baby if you don't rip it out. If you don't like the term "killing" then I'll say I don't think it should be ripped out.

I don't care if most women know when that is... if they are having regular sex, especially unprotected then they need to be taking pregnancy tests or at least expect pregnancy as a possibility. The "people just fuck" attitude enables irresponsibility. People have hands, mouths, etc. if they need to get their rocks off with a partner with no risk of pregnancy. Otherwise use protection and if, on the low chance that it fails, you should only be having sex with people you'd be comfortable starting a family with. Even then, adoption is an option.

The "unbelievable frequency" of school shootings has nothing to do with the conversation. Most "shootings" are gang related, including things that can loosely be considered school shootings, it's literally teens around the school premises that joined gangs shooting each other. Not a bunch of innocent preschoolers getting shot. And most gun crime involves guns that aren't legally owned in the first place.
