Stuff like this is not even in the president's job description. If you want to reform divorce laws, hound your state representatives and governor. Almost all laws that directly affect the people are state laws.

There are no federal divorce laws. They would be unconstitutional and if they were constitutional, the legislature would have to pass them first, and Trump would have to sign them. He wouldn't. Nothing like this could be done by executive order or regulation.

While I agree with you, last thing we need is the government getting involved in our family and relationships. I hate it too, but it's our culture that needs to change. I think it could be a good deterant from rash marriages, but for the people who are already married and suffering it wouldn't be good. Maybe it could work if he passed it for people married after a certain year. But at the end of the day, it's our culture that needs to change.
