Is it his cruelty, his lying, his stupid and damaging economic ideas, his fascistic tendencies, his cronyism and corruption, his narcissism, his misogyny, his xenophobia, his racism, his amorality, his greed, the normalizing of political threats, vengeance and violence that are his and MAGA’s hallmark and probable legacy OR other things too?
1.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Not really. If I had to say, Trump is like a small-time villain put into a position where he can do a lot of damage. Its not his selfishness or incompetence of evil that is the problem, all of that just results into small scale and short term issues. What sets Trump apart is the position he has been put into.
The stage was set long before Trump came around, he just happened to fit the mold perfectly to become the worst kind of person at the worst possible timing. Pick Trump away from his "lucky" circumstances with his inherited wealth, connections and privilege and he would be a complete nobody. He has no real ability by himself and he lacks the motivation and mindset to amount to anything in life. Its just that circumstances has conspired to make him our problem.21 Reply

1 yI don't appreciate the xenophobia of his followers. That comedian's remarks about Puerto Ricans really rubbed me the wrong way.
It was one of those comments that just felt really needlessly shitty. Puerto Rico is a jewel of an island. I have to wonder the judgement of anyone who would publicly describe it as a pile of trash.

@phraseology Puerto Rico is a US territory, but to act like it's culturally part of the United States is a bit silly.
Multiple things can be true at once, man. - 1 y
@ProbablyClueless Puerto Rico is culturally part of the United States. I know, Democrats don’t feel that way about real Americans, thus why you Democrats shoot Puerto Ricans and call them Confederates, but in Florida they share our culture. You Democrats have more in common with the Chinese Communist Party than American citizens.

@phraseology The Government has still not fully repaired damage from Katrina. Do you really think they are going to worry about Puerto Rico or any of the others? They are too busy putting $Billions into Ukraine.

@seeyounexttuesday Wow, I guess the trash collectors are on strike there. So that comment of a floating island of trash wasn't too far off. In reality, there is actually an island made of trash the size of Rhode Island floating in the ocean.
@Daniela1982 As a side note, the pacific trash patch isn’t what you think it is and is actually providing habitat for tons of marine life…not that I advocate throwing garbage in the ocean

1 yI’m a former Trump supporter…. I didn’t think it could get worse with him to be as frank as possible. I took him for a liar who didn’t keep his promises (Afghan Leave, Obamacare Repeal, Wall Finished, and Wipe Out ISIS all in 4 years of presidency)
Then it turned to Selfish & Entitled language for someone who would put America First as he claimed…. “People are dying, that’s true. It is what it is”. & “I’ve always played it down… Didn’t want to create a panic”. “If I lose because of this… I’m mad.”
Then it turned to Lies & Going Against Peaceful Transfer of Power which went from Election Night all the way to January 6th, 2021. Which after the siege on the Capitol I said, “Never going to vote for him”. A small part of me said what if the election was taken, though the rational part of me saw what happened & his proposal of a solution… Anti-American to say it lightly. Especially when I found out Mike Pence was the one to call National Guard through Trump Administration Generals & Associates not Trump…. Even when he “denounced” the mob in his “I love you, you’re very special” message he refused to send the National Guard. Mike Pence later greeted the National Guard thanking them for their service…. Fuck Trump.

1 yHe's one of the most worthless human beings I've ever heard of.
And while we're on the subject of worthless human beings, it's always been weird to me how people like such as trump, fascists, white supremacists think that they can claim any kind of superiority when in fact they are the most stupid, hate-filled, lowly kind of scum that has ever roamed the earth... the very thing they accuse the targets of their hatred to be.
30 Reply I would say his inability to regulate his own behavior. It's as if he can't help but be "Trumpian." My friend, who is a self-described "center of left" person, during Trump's term, said that he never thought that he would miss George W. Bush. Enen though he didn't like Bush's policies, he said Bush still acted like an adult.

There is a guideline regarding that but that is not a rule or law.
In Trump's case, there is an ethical principle that we are required to warn people of clear and present danger. I have decided that Trump constitutes a clear and present danger to many people and I therefor have a duty to warn others - which I have done and will keep doing.

1 yAll of that but his divisiveness is probably the worst second only to the people we've lost to the cult. He's destroyed families, coworker relationships, congregations, student body, unions and so many other groups where the poorly educated sheeple reveled in their new found permission to be horrible, violent, abhorrent people while simultaneously "owning the libs" by voting for feelings over policies.

1 yHe has used his wealth and power to rip people off. He’s done it for years and years.
How can anybody trust a man with the most powerful seat in the world, when he spent years shitting on the very people he claims to care about today?

The Russian collusion case was found to be a total fake. The FBI lied to the FISA court to get a warrant. Hillery was up to her eyeballs in this and Schiff lied to Congress when he said that he had evidence of this. Well, he never produced evidence and he never was charged with lying to Congress.
