Did South Park dictate what would happen?

An older episode of South Park, had ballots set on fire, when Obama was being elected.

With the recent news that people on the right, are trying to set ballots on fire, because they know they're going to lose, did south park dictate life? Notice I didn't say, "predict"

I dont think so. South Park is written by some really smart people and it is based on an exaggeration of reality. In other words, the things that happens inside the show either is based on what has happened or what is likely to happen but elevated to make it absurd and therefore funny.

In a weird way that means that their approach to comedy becomes fairly good at predicting the future in the case where reality grows more extreme.

They have been stun locked in terms of timeliness for a decade now. It's probably as relevant as bugs bunny and being in drag for kids entertainment to be honest.
