I was near some of them training in the Army and operating on the ground in construction. Some drank beer from the pitcher and commented on attractive WOMEN circulating nearby like we did. I even found myself among a convoy of Dykes On Bikes wearing jeans and leather while I was riding a canary yellow Ducati Superbike wearing matching helmet and leathers. It was actually fun (?) being ridiculed for the contrast.

In my experience, no, it didn't make an impact at all. The one possible exception I can think of ended up getting herself kicked out over disciplinary/drug problems, which isn't exactly a model soldier. That one was also about 6'1 and in much better shape than most other women, so "outlier" comes to mind.
