Well Steve, I won't go so far as to say that Trump really cares about the middle and lower classes. But during his first term I was able to buy more food, pay for more training, buy a car in cash, get better insurance for less, and save half my income as a lower class employee. Economics will go as they do, presidents wrongly get credit and blame for it just for being there. And the economy is actually already pretty good, and better recovered than anywhere else. How much goods and services cost is based on supply and demand, and the fact that they can still charge a lot for these things is because they know the economy is good enough that people can still come up with cash for it. YOU might not be able to afford it, but others can. And that sucks, but that’s capitalism.

Yes, I remember the "pandemic" perfectly. I remember how everyone started whining and used it as an excuse to stop working, taking payouts from the government as a reward for not working. While that was happening I was putting in 60-90 work weeks (excluding time off the clock) and growing sales at my restaurant by over 3X. My point is this: you can complain and point fingers and say there's no hope, or you can create solutions.

I agree with your point that presidents can't take credit/blame for changing the economy single-handedly, but it's a very uneducated opinion to believe that presidents don't have a massive impact on the economy. Import and export laws and agreements alone can make or break an economy. Supposedly coming from an economic background, you should understand that better than most.
