Which do you think was the most influential United States Presidential Election?

Now that 2024 election results are known, we could assess the impact of each election. I excluded 1996, 2004, and 2012 because I think that arguably they fall behind in importance.

Voted 2024 since it had so much at stake vut on second thought I was wrong. Its the 2016 election. Nornally primaries were rigged so that their prefered candidate (s) would win. No need to rig a general because no matter who they pick the establishment wins. But this time they really wanted hillary to win so all they cared about is placing the idiot nobody would vote for against her so she'd have an easy path to victory with a 99% chance of winning. Except it failed people voted against her anyway and got a guy in charge who had a dispute with wallstreet and wasn't under their influence as a result. Then people saw that america first mentality and it spawned a movement you now can't get rid off.

So while 2024 is extremely important there would be no 2024 election without the 2016 election. It would have be a shitty classical republican instead like nickey hailey for example. And all the important things at stake such as ending wars would not have been on the ballot.

I believe 2008 was the most important

Obama becomes a president and signs Obamacare. There is a massive backlash on the right to this legislation, that leads to the creation of TEA Party movement.

In 2010 election, Republicans, soaring on the TEA Party movement, win in a landslide, flipping a net gain of 63 House seats, 6 Senate seats, 6 gubernatorial seats and hundreds of seats in local parliments. Which allows them to pass Republican agenda on both federal and state level.

Donald Trump later taps into that movement, trasforming it from anti-tax and anti-Obama agenda, to his agenda.

So yes, I believe the election of 2008 shaped how USA looks today, including the rise of Donald Trump.

2008 put America back on the world map - the 2016 and 2024 elections have put it backwards again sad faces - 2020 restored the map & and once again it's now hopeful that 2028 or 2032 will bring another Democrat 🔵💙
