OMG, I was looking for YouTube videos on your islands and I didn't know they're rioting in Guadeloupe and Martinique because they want the same food prices as on mainland France. They're so stupid, because they don't know how basic economics work. Of course it's gonna cost more if they need to import it.
Someone in the comments accused France of poisoning their land with pesticides so they can't grow anything.
Either way I was surprised, because I always thought they were calm islands, especially Martinique. But they've been protesting a lot lately and Guadeloupe had a blackout even and they put a curfew on Martinique.
And I haven't heard anything about New Caledonia

@KostasKouvalis Actually we can put their food on the same prices as our own it's very easy, we produce so much electricity but is it so expensive because we give it to others European countries and align the price with them (which in turn make us French pay ways higher than we should) so by following this logics we could easily put down the prices of the food on the island. They mainly riot too cause they have no jobs there so no money and food is more expensive so it's harder to live there when you're poor

Make no sense as we're the European countries with the less pesticides also I've tasted wine from our island and it was even better than mainland wine so we definitely didn't poison anythng XD

I haven't heard anything from them either generally those that cause lots of trouble is Mayotte because of the huge amount of illegal immigrant they got, the others don't cause trouble (New Caledonia it's just some lunatic who want to be indepednat while the population voted three time to stay with us but they can't accept it as they're separatist)
Martinique / Guadeloupe are calm island in general yes but the prices of food there is just crazy what we pay 2 euros they pay 8 euros for it considering that they earn less than us

Every time one of those videos gets posted, the comments are always flooded with people who aren't even French complaining about how bad colonialism is and how those islands should be liberated. I think it's mostly black people from African and Caribbean countries writing this stuff. There are even some who actually believe the Haitian revolution was a good thing and is an example that should be followed.

Yeah, I heard Mayotte is a mess, because they're being flooded with bandits from Comoros.
Yeah, and they also think the ethnic French who have been living there for 10 years shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Food in remote regions is usually expensive. I keep hearing Reunion is cheap though, it's just expensive to get there
