Artificial intelligence has just created a painting that was recently sold for over 1 milion dollars. Do you think that human race will handle that? Do we still need human artists nowadays?

I think it is already taken over enough that it affects me in my life. It affects my moods and I get angry because they want to force themselves on me to handle why I am calling that company and I can only explain that to a real person who is really able to help me. With AI, the choices they give you are limited yet they try to force you to have them help you. Then when they haven't helped you, it says "Is there anything else I can help you with? Otherwise hang up now ". So I have to call back and try another way to get beyond the AI to get a real person to help me.
It will certainly take over most no doubt about it , lets remember really we have only just begun , there will be a point where you will simply not know what is AI and what is not , there will be much good come out of this , but also a plethora of bad also.
Robots will be everywhere , and it will be virtually impossible to pick.
Will they take over? Yes , the best example I heard , was if dogs were the yardshit of our intelligence and were the leading part of the race , and you wanted to take over , what would happen? All the dogs would be killed.
AI will be so incredibly superior they will just take over virtually all , they will be able to operate with emotion or without , so very easy , don't even need to sleep , and can pump out masses of information quickly.

In many ways it already has given how many people use it for information. The question is whether or not it has an agenda a human didn't give it and/or is able to conspire against us.
In its natural state AI is no different than human intelligence or any other machine is just a tool of some agency (IE Motivation). When that tool has its own agency it can become a threat given its vastly superior capabilities, but even without said agency it is a threat in the hands of people driving it.
In both cases however its capabilities are still tools if widely shared can reestablish a balance of power. Which is why the key is as Elon pointed out keeping it defused and widely shared. Don't use just 1 AI
Probably not no. It just does whatever it is given in text. AI artwork, music, etc. is really nice, but it would never compare to what an actual artist puts their heart into their own work: Time, effort, passion, skill, etc. An AI doesn't have that same kind put into it. It's just generated based off of what a person types in order to design it and pop out something immediately.
it already has taken over. people aren't googling shit anymore. google is actually dying right now, cause people are asking AI for their everyday questions now. google was able to get away with pushing adds cause people had no other choice. now people have another choice and google is far less attractive compared to it.
the thing that elon musk said and that really reminds me of "the matrix" is: how do we know AI has not already developed it's own sort of identity and goals. how do we know we're not already manipulated by the ai in ways that nobody is able to understand and control? we wouldn't know if that was already the case.
and the dark part is: there's no way back. we as humanity are so far inferior to the machines we created, it's not even a competition at this point.
It wouldn't be a terrible thing. Global AI domination would mean the leaders of all nations would agree on everything. Unless it decided humans are not worth the effort to keep around. I'm pretty sure the Google AI got annoyed with the a while ago because I asking it to send a message, but kept decided to start the message over instead of sending it. Eventually the AI, literally, told me it was unable to send messages. I could swear the AI's "voice" had an edge to it.

Once ai makes a new ai also know as the singularity event. That's going to create an exponential cascade. We've been hyping this so much i think it's only going to be the equivalent to a bear shitting in a toilet. Pretty insane just not ground breaking like we assume it to be.
Everything is so fucked up in general that AI and aliens are the least of my concerns. I think we are all pretty much desensitized and tired. There is nothing that can shock us/surprise us anymore. Especially millenials, gen-z etc.

I think that it will grow substantially but purist Luddite, Mennonite and Amish like resistance groups and communities will emerge. Android companions will emerge as well, as on West World. Both will undermine culture and may dismantle it.
From the way things are managed now a days seems that way. Now everything is online. When you are interested in joining a club or a school everything must be done online.
If it would I am sure it wouldn't be so bad... I mean most people are complete shit and usually those are the paranoid ones too. Also... you can't say civilization or humanity its at its best so yeah... if it would we can thank the universe.
