I am saying I won't condemn or defend him until I see a court case in the matter. I don't trust the media nor do I trust the court of public opinion, the allegation is too conveniently timed for me to not think that these were just attempts to disqualify him for the position.

Get a criminal conviction with no constitutional violations (I know that is asking a lot but it can be done) and I will agree that he committed a crime. Until that happens, it is partisan politics.

The difference is that finding a nanny is a more immediate action rather than having several months to find an AG. Plus, being the AG does not necessarily mean that he will be around children. Its not exactly an apt comparison.

There is no such thing as "credibly accused". An accusation is simply a claim and it's credibility is established in a court of law.

Yes, there is such a thing as credibly accused. If I accused you of painting other people's houses pink, that would be an incredible accusation. If young women are saying a particular documented payment to them by the accused was for sex, that's a credible accusation.

How many more times do I have to say this? Gaetz wouldn't have to be around kids for his job so no kid is directly in danger. It's not the same thing. Plus, if a nanny was accused of molesting children, she'd probably be in jail because molestation is a violent crime and I wouldn't be able to use her services even if I wanted to.

The timing of it alone is suspicious enough for me to think that it's a load of crap. It's a classic "i know that man touched you and traumatized you but lets wait several decades until he runs as a republican and THEN we can try to throw him in jail" gambit.

I dunno about you but if someone sexually assaulted me and ruined my life forever, I'd want them in prison ASAP. Why wait, especially if the DNA of the attacker can easily and accidentally get destroyed by bathing or doing laundry?

It just seems so ludicrous to me that someone would be able to somehow know that their rapist would run for office and and would be willingn to hold the line until it happens.

So what's the truth? This is the first time I've heard her name and the first time I heard the bribery story that OP wrote. I don't tend to believe things people say about politics, so I'm curious what the other side of this is.

As far as I read a few years ago, the Trump university thing wasn't a criminal situation. It was just a matter of non-accredited institutions in that state not being able to use the terms "college" or "university" but it wasn't a criminal code. It was administrative or civil. So a fine is the only legal outcome since people can't get jail or prison for non-criminal offenses. At least according to the law class I took in college.

His opponents are going to get really upset about him doing that and try to make what he does into a huge deal when it really is not.
