Fear that people will get something or do something they don't deserve is a core prinicple of the right wing in the US, even though they actually commit most of the political crimes including voting and financial frauds.

After Eisenhower and not including him or Ford, , every Reoublican US President has been involved in criminal behavior including most recently Trump.

Republicans want meaningful elections among the people who care enough about the results to actually show up and vote.

Not the meaningless machine politics of who can register and pressure the most people.

In a ideal republic, life is going to be nice enough that much of the population isn't going to bother to vote and instead will devote their energy to their family or whatever interest them.

Leaving the voting to the section of the population which is interested and generally makes good enough choices. thus high voter turn out rates really reflect a population that is troubled by goverment enough to try and do something about it.

I read through it. I agree that it's suspicious when there are more registered voters than adults in the county. However, having voters registration surpass nationwide rates isn't a cause for concern. I'm looking at it from a data perspective. Having outliers is normal. If you want to dig into why there are so many people registered to vote, feel free to do that, but you can't just say that a high voter turnout is a sign of cheating the election and file a lawsuit. (You can, but it'll just get dismissed as you've seen.)

Making sure that only citizen votes are counted is important, but we need actual effective ways of doing that and not things that making voting more tedious for everyone.

They don't... they simply want to ensure that those who do vote are entitled to do so.

In many states, it's way too easy to recruit immigrants, or find ways to get ballots from people who don't intend to vote and submit them.

Not an American let alone an Arizonian but why wouldn't every democracy want a clean role of entitled voters? With nary a dead person on it? Sorry I'm not getting the inverse.

Some countries allow non citizens to vote but at least the qualifications are clearly known. I can vote in a UK general election if I happen to be there on holiday at the time and register.

I probably would exercise my Empire vote cause I like history and it would be nicely retro and somewhat akin to watching the changing of the guard as a tourist thing to do.

The inverse is that this requirement tends to disenfranchise poor people and minorities which is why we mostly don't do it. Also, when it does happen, it happens in such small numbers that it is ineffective in changing the results of elections.

The right-wing in the US wants poor people and non-white people to not vote because they tend to vote for Democrats when they do vote.

Not directly, no, although the stupid insistence on voter ID is certainly a part of it. Republicans like anything that can be done to make voting more inconvenient and awkward because they know that for the most part, their policies are very unpopular.
