It's not sadism per se; conservatives have a more visceral reaction to fear, novelty or grotesqueness.

That's why you always see ads for gold, weapons, life insurance, identity theft, VPNs, tactical underwear, etc.

They respond to hierarchy, customs, traditions, mores, patriarchy, appeals to authority and even uniforms much more than libs.

They're a much easier group too incentivize and manipulate using fear or novelty.

This is a WELL ESTABLISHED empirical fact.

Well, on the offhand I think I remember a few scientific studies that analyzed the difference in the brain between conservatives and democrats. They basically found that conservatives on average does not feel nearly as much empathy towards the suffering or misfortune of strangers as compared to democrats. If you want to chalk this up to a neurological difference where they simply are mentally stunted or social difference where they just prevent themselves from seeing others as part of their "tribe" is up for debate I suppose.
