the political right in the west (for the most part) unfortunately have turned into a bunch of cowards who refuse to stand up for their beliefs even if those beliefs are correct and perfectly valid

the small percentage of people who do stand up for those beliefs strongly get labeled racist/sexist/misogynist/incel/nazi/homophobe/transphobe/fatphobic/bigot/loser etc. and that's enough to scare the masses of the political right into shutting up

at least the political right in foreign countries have strong enough spines to stand up for themselves and their beliefs

Well, no, I'm not- whatever their ignorance or defiance of the Constitution might be, Clinton didn't punish people for it, Dubya didn't do anything Reagan didn't, Carter didn't anything that almost ANYONE before him didn't, and Obama... okay, I'll give you Obama, but even HE only went after people others had already attacked. McCarthy just sought to take down political rivals and the basic presumption of innocence.
