Can you explain "dirty Asian" in American stereo type?

I heard people saying Asians are dirty. And, it's among the stereotypes. but I mean.. in what way? we have dirty restaurants or our ways of doing things are dirty or house is dirty or personality is dirty? I mean.. Chinese government is dirty they are hiding and do bad things behind and lots of Japanese yakuza is dirty definitely. Is that what you mean?

If by "Asian" you mean "Oriental", I've only really heard that about Chinese, even though it applies to SE Asians too, but I don't really heard about it with SE Asians. But a lot of SE Asian cities are slummy, and SE countries also rank high on the list of food poisoning cases, tourist illness and STDs

As for China, that mainly started after COVID. Their disgusting hygene practices started to become exposed. I literally saw a video of a Chinese taking much out of the sewer to use as cooking oil.

There had also long been the stereotype that Chinese tourists, and locals too defecate in the middle of the street. This actually seems to be accurate. Even when I was in Taiwan, the locals would say that the trash in the streets, beaches and ponds is from Mainland Chinese. So I think that stereotype mainly applies to China, but SE Asia also.

I have never heard anyone talk about "dirty Asians", so I can only guess what it means.

Asia is huge with a large variety of people. Many Asians have a reputation for being extremely clean, far cleaner than most westerners. Other parts of Asia are third world, where millions of people piss and shit in the street or by the river, then walk through the piss soaked mud in their bare foot.

But really, there are extremely unsanitary places all over the world.

I was thinking of a more literal kind of dirty. The way you are talking about is highly subjective. With that usage of the word, pretty much everywhere is "dirty".

But that doesn't change the fact that I have never heard of this stereotype for most Asians.
