Why do so many liberals believe law breakers will respect a new law?

I mean seriously, a new gun law only will fuck law-abiding citizens. Restrict men to a curfew so women can walk around and not get raped? Yeah, the guys that wouldn't even rape you will stay inside all night... enjoy the snuggle struggles, because the guys that would save you are locked up for the night.

I just get tired of them trying to pass these new laws, that a criminal that doesn't obey the law will not be affected by, but it will affect law abiders.

Here is a law idea of mine... put at least one gun in every woman's possession. An armed society is a polite society.

so the basic idea of having a law is so you can enforce it when someone breaks the law. making things forbidden by the law will absolutely 100% deter some people from doing the thing and the rest of the people that will continue doing it can then be punished for it.

like let's think what you're saying further. should we just stop making murder and theft illegal just cause some people will still murder and steal? that makes absolutely no sense.

So I don't think people think stuff through. I agree that if more people had guns violent crime would go down. I don't agree with mandating it. The problem is if you get a stalker, or get assaulted, the cops will do nothing. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people go the police and not get any help.
