They pay FAR MORE than their "fair share!"

The top 5% of income earners paid TWICE AS MUCH of the income taxes collected as the bottom 95% of income earners combined.

The top 1% earns 26% of the income but pays 46% of the taxes compared to 33% of the taxes paid by the bottom 95% combined.

So almost half of all income taxes come from the top 1%.

High income earners are being ROBBED!

The bottom FIFTY PERCENT! of income earners only pay TWO PERCENT! of the taxes combined!

When you pay taxes you are paying for government services. It's just like you walked into a store and bought a pack of gum, a loaf of bread, some dishwasher detergent and a haircut.

When you go to McDonalds the girl at the counter doesn’t ask you how much income you have. She knows it is none of her business. Why should you have to tell ANYONE that?

We all drive on the same streets, we are all protected by the same military so why should ANYONE pay more taxes than anyone else?

Everyone gets the same package of services from the government so everyone should pay the same amount.

That's called a "Head Tax." You take the budget and divide it by the number of people in the country, and that's how much each person owes that year. Simple and fair! Stop wasting billions of man hours and tens of billions of dollars every year on this outrageously unconstitutional tax system that no one can understand!

I'm thinking about the Census Bureau Report but not everyone participated in it like they should have.

My other thought is that everyday people are becoming American citizens so wouldn't that change the number of Americans to divide it by?

Yes, of course there are details. I just stated the basic principle. First it has to be agreed that each person should pay the same amount. That's the most important part of the process. After that the mechanics of it can be worked out.

For example, they can count everyone with a social security number and all citizens are required to have that. They can do it once per year say on the last day of the year. So everyone born up until that year would be counted. Yes, there will be a lot more details that have to be worked out, but it starts with the agreement that we have to get as close as possible to having every person pay the same amount. A "Head Tax."

Naturally it can't count people who are here illegally any more than the current tax system can. Taxing them is a different issue. And they shouldn't be taxed they should be deported.

When you go to McDonalds, everyone pays the same price for a Big Mac. That's perfectly fair. And it should be the same for the cost of government services.

The biggest question is what to do with people who cannot pay it.

Essentially they would be welfare recipients. And they should owe a debt for the amount that they don't pay each year. Some, of course, will never pay it back, so that will have to be absorbed by everyone else. Others may come into money and have to pay it back. But at least it will be transparent that we are all paying for welfare.

We have a problem with everyone having a social security number because people die every day in this country and they don't have any family or anyone else to notify social security that the person is dead now.
That's why even when voting in a new president they count dead people as voters right.

I just don't believe that it's as simple as it sounds to end up with an accurate number of people to divide it by.

Then it wouldn't be fair at all. Poor people could end up paying more than they can afford if the math isn't perfect or near perfect. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Nothing on a scale this big is ever perfect, including the current tax system. It is not possible to have perfect tax system. But you can deal with these things like that. Here is an example of how you could do that (just one of many ways). In mid year you could get a count of people reported dead who died in previous years but weren't reported dead on the day you counted the social security numbers. Then you could issue a rebate to everyone for the dead people who were counted.

There are ways to deal with these issues. And no matter how complicated this might be, it won't even be close to as complicated as the current tax system!

Woops... if there were dead people who weren't counted that would mean that each person who was living owes MORE than they paid, not less. So it wouldn't be a rebate it would be another bill.
Or they could wait until the end of the year and make sure the budget has an overestimate to cover for those issues. Not hard to do.

Everyone pays 20% taxes no matter how much you make. If you make a million dollars you can afford 200k in taxes. Just like those of us can afford 20k if we make 100k.
