    Positive freedom vs negative freedom.

As a leftist i think we in the United States of America have Positive freedom on lock and what we need to do is understand negative freedom to truly master freedom.

We basically can do any anything and everything a reasonable person will or want to do. Brilliant excellent good stuff. Some rough around the edges nothing throwing money won't solve.

USA has weak concept of negative freedom yet a strong drive and desire for. Demonstrate the assassination of a healthcare insurance ceo. O empathy of flat out muder. We as a country are held back from NOT PAYING taxes going into a single health care system.

Libertarian would universally condemn the muder of anyone robbing them of Libertarian abilities. Yet here we are striving for more equable leftist socialism justice for Luigi.

we need both but we can't beg the government for "rights" on whatever we think is right.

we need to nuance express ourselves, not be too nice, and actually stick up for autonomy.

You see that's the fundamental flaw of libertarians thinking the government is an all mighty enemy but our constitution is so damn good at representing our people that if we believe they as our government is an enemy they become the enemy.

At the end of the day if every American voted to end cancer our constitution of the people by the people can achieve that goal.

Yet here we are believe we are being endlessly robbed and scam by conmen. Yet who do we elect? The most charismatic conman wwe superstar to make our dream come true.

I don't think its an "all mighty evil enemy" I just think right now it is corrupt and must be smaller, and simpler.

Less corrupt how? It's fucking 9 out of 10 stars globally. You got to think the evil despots dictatorship robbing 95% of its country wealth are the same as first round picks in drafts every iprofessional sports every year in the usa.

Like I said before we have a damn near perfect representatives on every level of government. So how smaller can it get?

Everyone is shitting over groceries but that's privately own capitalism buisness. How is government involved?

Sure taxes are a thing but it's percentage base usually at the end of the day free market is the driving factor.

Aight don't curse at me, I've been respectful. We don't have "near perfect representatives" and I didn't mean every single person was evil mastermind I just meant its flawed and corrupt. The decentralized money is more what I mean, so people who need it can get money distributed through decentralized economies. I am against rich exploration of money

It's my colorful talking I'll hold back for now on. I apologize.

When I say we have prefect representatives it's more of the curse monkey paw way. We expect our political figures to be corrupt money grubbing corpo elitist so who do we vote for? Corrupt money grubbing corpo elitist. We'd rather be correct in our assumptions then actually creating a government that benefits the people.

It is better to have some own profound concepts about social interactions and ''issues''.

To follow a specific party's ideas means to lessen the range of possible options.

An Americanesian acquaintance recently put me into a ''Libertarian'' box.

... there is no ''better'' here. We (the world) need solutions - not ideologies.

Why do Republican news sourses fixate on liberals? Most moderate people are independant. And these blend with nobody.

Libertarian, always better to let people do as they wish, "liberal" in the American sense of the world is really totalitarian in enforcing rules to allegedly improve equality. Often leading to tyranny as they try to force things that are naturally not equal equal.

If you mean things like socialized medicine, the data is clear. Health is better in countries with single payer medical care.

Old school liberals were cool, but the new ones are fucking moonbats. Libertarians are tougher than conservatives, so I'll go with that.

Well, to put it bluntly, while liberalism means many things to different people it is fundamentally about 3 things. First is that in comparison to monarchies they believe that the government governs with the consent of the population AKA Democracy basically. Secondly they believe in personal freedoms, things like freedom from religion, freedom of speech etc.. Thirdly, they believe in rights such as human rights and civil rights.

In my eyes, these things are just the baseline. They are not going nearly far enough to effectively use the power of the state in benefit of society.

For example; Consenting to someone else ruling over you like what happens in USA has not had a particularly good track-record. Likewise, especially now when science is pushing our understanding of what it means to be human and our ability to create artificial intelligence, we are going to have to decide if we should expand rights and freedoms to things that are no longer human such as AI and maybe even animals both current and if we uplift them in the future.

As for libertarianism, I just see them as people who can't wrap their minds around how their existence and actions impacts the world around them. They treat the world as if they are living in their personal bubble of reality and the effects of their actions ends at the borders of their personal space.

It is pretty obvious that actions has consequences but they are trying to get around that by claiming there is a limit to personal freedom. "each individual has the right to live as they choose, so long as it does not involve violating the rights of others by initiating force or fraud against them." But that is not realistic. Have you heard of the Butterfly effect in chaos theory?

Seemingly small and unimportant actions will ripple through the world and cause potentially terrible things to happen. Trying to escape responsibility to pretending its no longer your problem after it leaves your direct vicinity is childish.
