I'm a libertarian who used to be a Liberal at 12-17. Im open to a nuanced conversation

That's ok. I guess it's the same here in the UK. Tensions politically have been the highest in the last 5 years than at any other in peacetime, so everyone, whatever their views are more guarded.

Really? From Ron Paul to his son Rand to John Dennis, they are Republican. There is even a Caucus, or faction, within the Republican Party that is home to them:
