Tax cuts for businesses largely benefit LOWER AND MIDDLE CLASS taxpayers because the cost of those taxes is built into everything they buy and makes up a larger percentage of their income than it does the income of high income earners.

My understanding is that the across-the-board tax cuts had a higher dollar figure of relief for higher income earners (because it's a percentage based system) so the left was against it. Like, if everyone gets a 2% cut, the people paying 50k a year in tax get more relief than the people paying 5k a year. So it was unpalatable to them.

Anyone conflating corporate taxes with taxes on the wealthy is being intentionally dishonest or naive. Corporate taxes aren't related to personal income tax. Wealthy people pay taxes based on their personal income. So, when we raise corporate taxes, it just raises prices to consumers. The exceptions are irrelevant, because this is how it plays out in 99.9% of cases.

Getting rid of corporate taxes would overwhelmingly benefit poor people. That's why the corporations that run our country allow them to happen. They know the poors actually pay the tax. And even more, it stifles competition from smaller businesses. So it's a double win. Corporate tax is explicitly a tax on the poor.
