The US has had its claims of illegal immigrants eating pets in Ohio.

Now, it's reported that lost pets and pet theft are on the rise in the UK. Could it be the immigrants?

I don't think that the immigrants are behind it.

In Islam, dogs are regarded as "dirty" so Muslim are probably not the ones stealing your dogs. And the other religions forbid you eating dogs or cats. So why are people stealing pets? Probably not to eat them. It's exactly like the article says, because certain breeds are extremely expensive. And people make money by stealing them and selling them again. Nothing to do with immigration in particular.

And since the UK government doesn't really care about it, the rates are just going up. That is very easy to explain. If a criminal (regardless if he is an immigrant or not) commits a crime and doesn't get caught, he will do it again and again and again. And sooner or later other criminals will do the same, because they know that the risk of getting caught is extremely low and the money is worth it.

Add some cars that hit them and you know where most of them are disappear.

And some pets, especially cats do indeed have several families that feed them. All that needs to happen for them to 'disappear' is that one family decided to lock them at home to prevent them from "running away"

And suddenly your pet is gone.

The US claim has been proven false time and again. You're either senile or suffering Alzheimer's to bring up lies time and again hoping they will be "true" this time.

As for the UK claim, it's nothing much, as pets and valuables have always been something to steal. But if you look at the police reports it's more likely false claims. Mainly as people are resorting to claiming insurance to get some money.

If the pet really was that "valuable" then they would have put in as much better protection for it as other items. But you'll often find in these claims that the "burglar" has left decent value items alone, and went for the pet instead.

Being going on for decades, nothing new. Usually it's expensive breeds stolen from gardens as puppies to order but now we're seeing dogs being stolen for illegal dog fighting.

I'm not convinced missing pets are always stolen. Cats do get taken by foxes or hit by cars at night. Dogs do wander off, we've had a couple of local stories of them being found living wild on the hills after going missing months ago often travelling long distances.

Cat and dog meat reeks a lot more than regular meat. It definitely doesn't make yo think yum yum. You couldn't just put it in the trash without drawing the neighbours attention. You've got the inedible parts to get rid of and I'm sure if migraints were eating them we'd see plenty of physical evidence.

It's no joke. My dogs and cats have gone missing and my Haitian neighbours are having bbqs the same day

there's a lot of meat on a dog... and where are these immigrants from? they may not have these western countries scrouples. your diet declines to eating roots, you'ld probably go hunting easy prey.

My guess would be it's dog fighting, but who knows.

I am not surprised. We had a lot of immigrants from Viet Nam a few years back and people were reporting that their dogs were going missing. The local cops found a family that was cooking the neighbors dog in the fireplace.
