Tall people, Do people always look at you when someone asks to reach stuff or whatever?

Does that annoy you or are you just meh?
That happens to me a lot once in a while. When that happens all eyes are on me. Well I know why but when there’s another tall person in a room, I get a break lol. It’s nice not being the only tall person for once even though I’m there to help.

I think admin always puts me in a classroom with short coworkers on purpose. That’s always happened to me. Everytime one of my coworkers asked for help to reach shit, everyone looks at me. One said, “(My name), you’re tall so you’re the only once that can reach.”

My coworkers are 4’10”, 5’1” and 5’3. I’m 5’11”. I always have to lift the big heavy things. One of them said, “You’re tall can you reach that for me. I’m too short. I would stand on a chair but it’s saves times when you get it.”

The other coworkers said, “Well why bother getting a chair when (my name) is the only tall one in the classroom? Use her! Let her reach those.”
It’s annoying when I’m expected to do everything.

I know your frustration. My pet peeve is when I first meet someone and they say something like "wow, you're tall!"

Like, it would never occur to me to say to a vertically-challenged person upon first meeting them "wow, you're short!"

Yeah for real. I mean I don’t mind helping and I do volunteer but I’m so sick of people looking at me every time people can’t reach

I am 5’8.

I think my height is a bit above average for women based on American statistics but I still wouldn’t use the words “very tall” to describe myself.

Anyway I work at a hotel and recently I got asked by my coworker who is shorter than me if I could grab a doona down from the shelf that they couldn’t reach.

Small talk about how good I'd be at sport drives me insane. Them living vicariously drives me up the wall. No i don't want to play your sport and make millions because I don't care about your sport.

It happened a few times, usually in the supermarket when a small or at least smaller woman can't reach a product from the top shelf. Not a problem for me to help.

I am a 6’2 male. Usually the “little old ladies “ in the grocery stores ask me to get things for them.

But then I ask the short people “that are closer to the ground “ to pick things up for me!

No. Most people are too uncomfortable to ask. When you are lacking anything that thing is painful to you. It makes you feel less than others. I don't like to see good people hurt.
