When someone asks you about your height are you honest?

Height, weight, hair colour, eye colour, hair length, penis length, whatever... I'm always honest about my frankly unpleasant chassis, though one thing I can't promise is that all my info is current and up-to-date, since I don't routinely re-measure myself. But it was correct the last time I checked.

My height, at last check, was about 176cm.

I'm 5'9. I'm not tall, but I'm not ashamed of my height either. I have no reason to lie. Even if I was 5'4 or less, I'd see no reason to lie. Because even if you lie, when you eventually meet the person you're talking to, they'll see how short you are and judge you even worse for it.

Yes. Why lie about something like that? If they are never going to meet you in person it is completely irrelevant. If they are, they will see you are lying, unless you are lying by such a small margin it isn't noticeable, in which case why lie at all.

Yeah. Most people think I'm lying they always think I'm taller. I think it's just because of how gangly I am. It give the appearance of me being taller than I am.
