Are you self conscious of your height in public?

Do you find yourself comparing your height to other people? Seeing if you are taller or shorter than others? I find myself doing that to understand where i stand in the height spectrum 👀 wbu?

I am confused by why a bunch of people are asking me if its his child? I never said anything about cheating or having another man’s child… it’s obviously his child i never had a relationship with another man we are divorcing for other disagreements. Thank you for all the others I appreciate the different insights.

I've never been to my recollection. It kind of surprises me how height-obsessed people are these days as well as men's preoccupation with the size of their genitalia.

I think maybe because of the cultural mindset in which I was raised in Japan which emphasizes the Buddhist/Stoic idea of the dichotomy of control, I never developed any insecurities over the things I can't control like my height.

I did have insecurities about things I could control. One of my biggest was bad breath since I was told one time as a teen in high school that my breath was bad. Since then I started to adopt the habit of rigorously brushing my teeth and often chewing breath mints on dates since I was worried about having bad breath.

In middle and high school I used to do that, since I was curious how tall I was going to be. When you are as tall as your father by 7th grade and your height gets mentioned by friends/family constantly, then you think of it a lot.

Outside of the airport or when someone points out that I'm tall - I have stopped focusing on it since I stopped growing in 10th grade. Also, as you get older you realize that people care more about you as a person than your height.

In general, I'm used to my height, and I don't pay attention to it. And I definitely don't compare. Usually, I'm the shortest, so there is no need to even check that :D

When I was younger I was self-conscious. My mom is 10 cm taller than me and she often told me to wear high heels or I’d stay unnoticed.

But now I feel pretty content with my height.

My height is one of the very few things I'm not self conscious of. I'm 6ft I know I'm tall and lots of girls want 6ft or greater. But I also come from a tall area I'm actually average here. Once upon a time if bugged me because there were a lot of guys taller than me but I got over that because my area is just randomly freakes

When I was 10 I started puberty and went trough the roof, literally. At 12 I was taller then my male teachers. I haven't grown since I was 13 and I'm 190cm/6.2feet. I was very conscious of my height. Had to learn to walk up straight because I hunched a bit. The physiotherapist told my mom that most kids that get tall at that age have the same problem.

No. It doesn't bother me, at all! It's mostly others than make note of it and remark about it.
I WAS kinda surprised to see that Chris Squire and Bill Bruford are as tall as me. I never figured them to be that tall but, standing beside them proved that they are! Funny how none of us have a really deep voice like Ted Cassidy (Lurch), even though we're all the same height.

No. I think I'm avg. height in my mind. I know I'm not. But I don't think of myself as that tall till other people remind me. And that happens at least once a week.😂

I'm kind of gangly so I think that gives the appearance of me being taller than I am.

I'm usually from the tall people but sometimes i stumble by people who are really so much taller than me, it happens rarely, i mean there are guys who who are taller than in a little bit such as men who are 6ft 5 or 6ft8 but when i meet someone who is 7ft tall or above, i feel very short 🤣🤣 i'm nearly 6ft 1

Being obsessed with height is relatively new. When I was going through Navy flight training we felt sorry for the tall guys as they were disqualified from flying anything with an ejection seat.

Now with dating app filters and something like 88% of women screening out guys below 6', it seems to be more of an issue.

With being 5' 10" I used to be extremely conscious of my height, however since meeting my husband (then boyfriend) whose 6' 3" those worries and concerns have virtually disappeared.
