My opinion on Donald Trump's actions within his first few days as President of the United States is mostly negative. Based on the nature of the Executive Orders that Donald Trump recently signed, he demonstrated that he is one of the dumbest presidents in United States history. While not as extreme as the politics of David Duke and the like, Donald Trump is ushering in a form of White nationalism into mainstream politics under the guise of "conservatism." Most of his Executive Orders fail to address major issues in the United States, can easily be circumvented, and are downright based on falsehoods.

Beginning with Trump's actions regarding immigration, Trump plans to use the United States military to "secure the border" as part of his mass deportation initiative. Much like Trump's border wall, such action can be easily circumvented after realizing that a large portion of undocumented immigrants occurs because of overstayed visas, not through illegal border crossing. As undocumented immigrants enter the United States by overstaying temporary visas, added border security becomes more likely to fail, resulting in Americans paying more tax dollars for an easily circumvented plan.

Donald Trump also plans to direct the creator of Homeland Security Task Forces in all 50 states to end the presence of criminal cartels, foreign gangs, and transnational criminal organizations. Such a direction is problematic because cartels, foreign gangs, and transnational criminal organizations are not responsible for the majority of the crime in the United States, but rather local gangs and criminal organizations. If Trump's goal is to lower crime rates, he ought to focus more on local crime rather than foreign criminal organizations.

Donald Trump also plans to disallow family members of legal immigrants from entering the United States while their visa applications are pending, specifically if they are from Haiti, Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua. Note how Trump is only targeting countries with Black or Hispanic majorities but has no issues with European immigrants entering the country. Such actions are typical of White nationalist ideology, where the primary goal is to ensure that the White population remains the majority. Overall, Trump's immigration Executive Orders make it harder for non-European immigrants to migrate to the United States, which is ironic because White Americans themselves are not native to America.

Regarding the economy, Trump plans to implement his tariffs that he talked about during his campaign, where he plans on charging foreign manufacturers more for imported goods. The problem with such a plan is that if foreign countries are forced to pay more for tariffs, they are likely to increase the prices of goods, resulting in inflation, which is ironically an issue that many Trump supporters voted for Trump to end. Trump plans to circumvent the problem by hoping that Americans would buy American goods instead. This too is problematic because America itself does not produce enough goods to cover the costs of potential losses in revenue. The sad reality is that the vast majority of our products are made in China. Considering that Trump threatened to impose a 60% increase on Chinese goods, for China to offset their own costs, they too are likely to raise their imported goods by 60%, potentially resulting in massive inflation. Hopefully, someone intelligent and qualified in Trump's corner could educate Trump and help him rethink his braindead, dangerous plans.

Donald Trump also plans to suspend participation in the Global Tax Deal, a program intended to set a minimum corporate tax globally to prevent multinational corporations from avoiding taxation altogether. Despite the fact that multinational corporations are among the wealthiest entities in the world, Trump plans on helping them save as much money as possible, even though multinational corporations paying more taxes could potentially offset much potentially lost revenue for the overall economy.

Regarding the environment, Trump plans to eliminate progress related to climate change, something that he clearly doesn't believe in, and fossil fuel regulations. Such is evident by Trump's withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement and Trump's plans to revoke Biden's policies related to regulating fossil fuel and the encouragement of developing electric cars to save Earth's natural resources.

Regarding civil rights, many of Trump's White nationalist views come to light. Trump is doing everything in his power to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs under the guise that people hired under such policies are unqualified for their positions. The problem is that merely because employers hire minorities to promote diversity does not mean that such minorities are unqualified, nor does it mean that White people hired to certain positions are always qualified as well. Unqualified White people definitely exist too, and Trump is one of the best examples. Considering that Trump does little to acknowledge this, as well as the fact that White women benefit the most from affirmative action policies and said nothing to address legacy admissions in colleges that White people typically benefit from, one can argue that his policies align with that of White nationalism to prevent Whites from having competition in the job market.

Plenty more exists to go through, such as pardoning the people that rioted Capitol Hill on January 6th and more, but my post should highlight the gist of Trump's politics and why I think most of it, thus far, is ineffective. Thus far, despite the fact that I do agree with him on his opposition to gender identity and declaring that only two genders exist, which is, in my case, not out of prejudice or hate but rather the simple fact that it is biological truth, I believe that it is a low-priority issue when other major issues currently exist right now that need addressing. While I also agree with him trying to delay the banning of TikTok, it should have never been banned in the first place because America is supposedly a country that prides itself on free speech, and Trump initially called for TikTok to be banned during his first term. Much more pressing issues exist as we speak rather than TikTok.

I agreed with your entire column up until the Tik Tok issue and although we do have freedom of speech which was written long before modern media was ever even envisioned, some areas need some oversight such as Tik Tok which a country that is as anti American as could be and it is a correct assumption they can and do use that site for things not beneficial to the US. If the premise is to ban TikTok because it is owned by an anti-American country, namely China, that can use it for things not beneficial to the United States, then you might as well ban every website. Pretty much any site can be used in ways not beneficial to the U. S. regardless of who owns it. Hackers are a thing, but I doubt that the technology-obtuse fossils in Congress are aware of this. Let's say that America does buy TikTok from China. That doesn't stop Chinese (or anyone for that matter) hackers from gaining access to things that can potentially be used in harmful ways.

If Trump imposes tariffs of a certain percentage, say 60%, on other countries for their goods, those goods are very likely to arrive in the United States costing 60% more than they did before, resulting in massive inflation. Trump wants to impose a 10% tariff on all imported, plus 60% on China. Considering that practically everything in America is made in China, you can argue that if Trump actually does get his way, goods can increase to up to 70%, which definitely can result in a recession. I'm just hoping that someone in his cabinet is smart enough to not let Trump attempt it. You can encourage Americans to buy goods produced in America when America hardly produces its own goods.

I do not approve of his cutting of lowering prescription drug costs via Executive Order originally by a man who shall remain nameless, pardoning of January 6th rioters who assaulted cops at the Capitol & threatened law enforcement, getting USA out of WHO relations (even when the WHO helped the world eliminate the threat of Smallpox & helps every country around the world working with all governments local and federal to achieve health goals in a non political way), removing us from Paris Accords, removing what he deemed ‘DEI Websites on White House official site’ including the US Constitution being removed, etc.

I will say I’m glad he increased punishments for those that break the law that happen to be undocumented immigrants, that was a good one. I like most of what he’s done. But I absolutely do not agree with:

• Pardoning J6 rioters who were engaged in active (battery) violence. Battery is technically when you “batter” someone. If you batter a cop you should go to jail no matter if you are protesting for BLM of J6. However I am completely fine with him pardoning non-violent. They were given absolutely insane draconian sentences. People being sentenced to a year in prison for just walking into the capitol building (and doing nothing wrong) was beyond insane.
• Wasting time on stupid distractions like renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. This is just still and over the top. This will just give his detractors and the mass media more fodder.

But I am very happy about getting rid of DEI, re-establishing his “remain in Mexico” order, etc.

This is a misleading post. You don't lower the cost of food in stores by directly ordering stores to lower prices, unless you're a communist dictator. You do things that bring down inflation/costs of living in general. Reducing taxes helps and you can reduce taxes by reducing the size of the federal government.
