How much does a restraining order provides protection to a victim?

For example: if a girl was beaten and was physically abused that she had to cover her wounds and bruises with make up and dresses, does a restraining order provides a real protection for her? 🤔

It's part of a package where people have to work together for it to be effective: The victim has to inform the police about the perpetrator violating the restraining order. The police cites or arrests the perpetrator and informs the judge. The judge issues a summons or bench warrant and questions the perpetrator. First violation means a reprimand, second violation means a fine, third violation means jail time. Of course not everybody is impressed by the law.

Not really. There was an incident at my work. Some lady had a restraining order against her ex, but he kept coming to her work place anyways. He ended up getting arrested, but the point is, he still came. As we say in Polish, "He had her restraining order in his ass." Which basically means, he didn't care for it and it wasn't gonna stop him

It offers zero direct protection. The police will not protect her but, after a crime is committed against her, they may arrest the criminal. The only protection a restraining order offers is the fear of punishment the abuser would have should she or he violate the restraining order and harm her. However, should the abuser decide to violate the restraining order, the police will do nothing to prevent it.

Fear of punishment is a deterrent to committing crimes. However, fear of punishment doesn't prevent all crimes.

The only real prevention is the faith in god and being raised with morals and values!
A good person who believes in god and who was raised on morals and values, will never hurt you and even if there was no laws, he will never hurt you...

Most will follow it. Those that violate it ONCE Max TWICE should get automatic jail time. Let them sit in their own mess with a significant blemish on their record. Close to no tolerance for these violent mostly males. FAFO

Some people are stupid and do no respect the laws, for example: how many school massacres happened in the U. S till this day! Where's the solution? This shows that the laws are inportant but what more important is our upbringing and our faith in god...

If you and me are alone stranded on an island, there are no laws, no police and no nothing, how much it's easy for me to abuse you and rape you and enslave you, where's the laws here that will protect you? BUT because i have my laws which are god's laws and because i was raised to love and help, i'll never be able to committ such things even of i can and even if i'll never be prosecuted, i'll protect you, take care of you and feed you and make sure to treat you the way i treat myself, these acts will make you love me and take care of me the same way i'm treating you and there will be no place in your heart for fear or sadness!

I can't hurt someone or be bad with someone, bot because there are laws, it's because i am like that and because i know that god is seeing everything and there is no escape for me if i'm going to do what the devil commands me to do!
