Government thrown into chaos with air traffic controllers being sent ‘buyout’ offers when there is already a shortage of air traffic controllers

All of this occurred within the last ten days

This tragedy didn’t come out of nowhere. It came from Trump’s reckless ego-driven destruction of the very systems meant to protect us.

I believe it is a tragedy that could’ve been prevented and should never had happened. Air traffic controllers apparently changed the long runway to the shorter runway not knowing the Black Hawk Helicopter was close by. The approaching Black Hawk was coming toward the river as the American Airlines Flight with 60+ passengers was making an approach toward the runway to make a successful landing. Air traffic talked to the helicopter 30 seconds before the crash asking if they saw the airplane, also to make a maneuver out of the way…. Then the crash happened leading to an explosion and tragically ended up in the river. It is my understanding that there were high winds and that the American troops flying the Black Hawk were well trained with thousands of hours on their belt.

I’ve read they’ll begin the investigation in 30 days though will take nearly a year for the full report. I didn’t know about the ONE controller doing the job designated for TWO controllers, that definitely had a role to play especially in a crucial time frame where lives were on the line & fast timing is important. I didn’t know President Trump fired 100 senior FAA workers, might’ve played a role though I will wait for the full report before I make any judgement / cast judgement. I will say firing senior members with lots of experience is a moronic move though I don’t know if it had anything to do with the tragedy. Trump did suggest this was caused by ‘DEI’ so maybe to cover his own tracks though that is pure speculation in the air which I will not play with. Rest in peace to the 67 Americans lost in this tragedy and God be with their friends, family, and loved ones.

Possible. Id have to see the ripple effects …if those shakeups impacted decision making or personnel involved. Just fear amd reorg can throw people off.

Listened to the flight controllers… i did not catch the root problem.

If you think about the amount of change and uprooting this time around… its drastic. Have to wonder about the missile systems as well. Mistakes can happen…. Thus I've been driving and avoid flying and have for a while.

That said… nobody knows what happened at this point.

I read 67 were killed in a mid-air collision in Washington, panicked briefly because I have family there then found out it was DC as opposed to the state and calmed down

Nothing on the news about Trump but what was a military aircraft doing in the civilian airspace is surely a worthy question
