Trump has initiated a trade war with American allies Canada and Mexico. Canada has already indicated they will respond in kind. Are you ready for how this will effect (inflation, shortages and job loses ) you?

well before I voted, I mentally prepared for a roller coaster ride... possibly ending with nuclear fallout. So anything else is surprise.

of course not ready for the financial swirl, noone is. it means prices go up... inflation... whatever the heck that is.

But if our financial budget is repaired and the world doesn't melt down into chaos, then is ok.

I cannot disagree with him too much... nor would he listen... we are broke. We needed change 30yrs ago but ignored it. Now the piper is piping... we (the world) will pay for our financial mis deeds.

I expect it to be worse elsewhere, so buckleup.

As a Canadian we don't do much manufacturing anymore besides cars. Domestic cars cross the border multiple times during the manufacturing process so that's going up. By far our largest exports to the US are oil and gas, lumber, metals and cars so all that's going up in this pissing contest. Obviously we're retaliating and it will be an export tariff on oil. If the US doesn't want our oil, gas and metals I'm sure we can find a country that does. However, it's not like America can get far without our oil, at least not in the short term. Trump is increasing government revenue without raising your taxes.

It doesn't bother me. This affects Americans a lot more Canadians. I still make most of my money in the US but I haven't been in the US in almost 6 years. Most of us small businessmen who used to export to the US either got out or started expiring to the Caribbean and Europe

Trump admitted short term there's going to be an economic disruption but he couldn't let those countries to continue to take advantage of the U. S and I agree.

If you have a car you have to put gas in the tank... USA buys most of its imported oil from Canada. Some studies suggest fuel prices to rise as much as $1 a gallon. If they dont there will be 1000s laid off from refineries. Car prices will rise. Cost of building houses (Canadian Lumber) will rise. Prices for vegetables from Mexico will rise. The list goes on. Tariffs are a tax on USA consumers. Good luck buying American.
