Should non lethal weapons be used in home defense protection?

I personally believe thieves are the scum of the earth and that ridding ourselves of them would be a commendable act. They would never hesitate killing in order to posses items that they refused to obtain in an honorable fashion.

Nah. Weapons are there to kill.

Rather use explosive projectiles, dum dum's and such.

Don't forget to consider and to keep at hand grenades and perhaps a cannon loaded with nails... as well as poisoned arrows from a blow gun.

Possessing a nuclear missile won't hurt (you), too.

I would not want to bet my life on non lethal weapon. I know cops that have tasered people and they just laugh it off. A.357 has enough stopping power to take down even the most menacing adversary.

in self-defense, any weapon should be allowed...

but I live in a strange place... if you defend yourself... and your opponent dies, you are treated as guilty until YOU prove that it was self-defense...

Self defense is to neutralize the threat. Permanently or otherwise. Personally, I like the first!
Now if you live in a town house or row home. Non lethal might be a better choice unless you can shot the whiskers off of a gnat at 50 feet!
