Fellow conservatives. Overall I really love what Trump is doing but are we going to call out republicans when they go overboard and/or act stupid?

Alright for the record I have voted for Trump in all 3 past elections. Most proudly in the last election. I think he’s on his game right now. The absolute hell he went through in the last 4 years has definitely made him wiser, more decisive and battle hardened.

With all that said I am not afraid to criticize him when he legitimately says or does something silly and sometimes outright stupid. He’s not a “demigod” to me. He was just the better choice when it comes to my policy.

With that said he occasionally makes me cringe with his comments and ideas. While I think 90% of his executive actions were spot on there are a few things that get under my skin. I think the “Gulf of America” was stupid distraction. I also don’t think he should pardoned the (truly) violent J6 protestors (maybe commuted their sentences but not a full pardon).

Anyway most recently he made a comment that the Washington DC airplane / helicopter collision was due to DEI and I have a serious problem with that.

It is true that the Biden administration shoved DEI onto all industries including those where qualifications could mean people’s very lives.

However, I still believe it was very wrong for Trump to preemptively assume the root cause of this recent tragedy prior to getting the full facts first beforehand.

Don’t get me wrong. I hate DEI with a passion and I am very relieved it’s being eradicated. But still let’s not make bad assumptions until we know the full facts.

So the question is can we take the higher road in scenarios like this? Just saying.

The DEI thing was a step too far, but he did clarify it it isn't too far off. he doesn't gie polished speeches writtten by someone else, ad he answeres questions... unlike the other side. So you take your pics eh? It's fine to call him out but as UI heard him, it wasn't too bad. Id rather him just say "we don't know yet", but we are going to end DEI.

But with the media pounding that issue, it sounds worse...

Can you imagine the prior #1 issues screaming across his desk and phone all day? Ukraine, Russia, South American nations, China, North Korea, blah blah blah...

you know Russia/Ukraine is coming... he worked on that today... after getting Canada and mexico in line.

The dude is kicking but getting things done. Way better than beaurocracy... but don't want it like this every 4 years!

I do not like getting the federal government involved in crypto currency. The min reason people invest in crypto currency is that the government has no control over it. Having US crypto coins defeats the purpose. I did not mind renaming the Gulf of Mexico. I am in favor of buying Greenland and Panama needs to stop giving control to China. Trump is fighting a dozen different things with democrats trying to stop him at every turn.

But there are some lefty’s on GAG I really detest. They will recognize my screen name and go off on TDS rants.

I could block them of course but I am trying to avoid bitching out the way they often do. Also as aggravating as I find those people I actually do take the time to read some of their posts. I disagree with them 95% of the time of course. But every once in a while I see they have moments of clarity. Every once in a (very rare) blue moon we have common ground. For example drpepper actually hates the whole trans movement. He’d extremely left otherwise but I was actually intrigued to hear him admit that.

I unfortunately have encountered an issue from many democrats (not all but several) that when I am humble enough to criticize a republican then they just take it and run with it. Like I am “admitting defeat” or some nonsense.

I am not about arguing to “be right” vs debating to figure out WHAT is right. There is a difference.
