1 yThe other way to look at it is: it’s too bad we have a maniac with a bunch of looney toon loyalists attempting to roll back people’s civil rights 50-150 years because our billionaire owners decided that’s counterproductive to business, so much so that we have to do incredibly expensive bullshit just to make sure everyone who lives here can still get any semblance of a fair shake.
This is wealthy white men doing everything they can to keep wealthy white men in control of America, rendering pretty much every move they make egregiously terrible in its intentions.
Most of this country is made up of slack-jawed yokels who drink Mountain Dew and chew tobacco and go craw-huntin’ in the creek. The blue states are financing all of the rest of the country, other than maybe three red states. These reason that is is because blue state people are generally smarter and more educated and less ignorant. We have like 10 productive states, and 40 hangers-on, which is fine, we’re all supposed to be in this together, but it sure fucks things up for everyone when Cletus from Hazzard County stops fucking his sister long enough to make it to the voting booth to make a completely uninformed, local peer pressure-based decision based on vibes and poor insult comedy.

1 yTaxing U. S. citizens to waste it on keeping illegals and criminals in the country. It is the responsibility of the government to protect the country and citizens and secure our borders and they are using tax money to keep our borders open and allow illegals in at way too high of numbers, keep the drug cartels in business, the human trafficking going, drugs flowing into our country, inflicting more poverty and crime on our citizens.
They have no desire to keep immigration at low, healthy, controllable numbers, lawful and vetted, they just want fucking anarchy and an overflow with endless millions and millions and millions flooding in FOREVER. ]
FUCKING traitors to their own country.

Why do I have to explain basic math and economics to you people literally every day? can't you like.. I dont know.. retake school or something and spare me the hassle?049 Reply- 1 y
@Dongie You do realize that 1 million is only 0.1% of a billion right? California has a state budget of around 300 billion dollars, give or take, which means that 50 million is around 0.01%.
50 million dollars is not a particularly meaningful amount of money for California and is not going to do particularly much in solving a multi billion dollar problem. This is just facts. - 1 y
- 1 y
@Sevenpointfive Irrelevant. We are talking about how 50 million dollars could have been better spent trying to resolve a multi billion dollar issue. Short answer, it can't, and would have been better spent doing literally anything else than putting a band aid on a severed leg. At least then it might have a chance of actually being effective.
- 1 y
- 1 y
@Sevenpointfive Wow.. If you are just going to hand me the win on this argument on a plate then go right ahead.
Yes, in the right hands 50 millions can make all the difference and solve real problems. That is why they DID NOT try to solve a multi billion dollar issue with only 50 million dollars and instead used it somewhere else. Thank you for supporting my argument, not that I needed it. - 1 y
that makes no sense. but you lefties tend to make up solutions to absolve yourselves of your wrongdoings. it's almost pointless to argue.
- 1 y
@Sevenpointfive What makes no sense? The realization that 50 million dollars is not enough to fix a multi billion dollar problem?
- 1 y
you don't need to use that money for fire aid. and i could absolutely use it to fix your fire aid problem!
- 1 y
@Sevenpointfive True, California did not need to use that money for fire aid.. so it didn't.. I dont understand how this is such a difficult thing to grasp.
- 1 y
you are asking to throw away money legally and you think that's difficult to grasp?
- 1 y
@Sevenpointfive Using that 50 million dollars to try solve a multi billion dollar would be wasting it because you would still have a multi billion dollar problem afterwards without any measurable difference. Better to use it to resolve some other problem that can actually be fixed so at least you can cross one issue off the board at the end of the day.
- 1 y
that's exactly what we are both saying and agree on. that money should not be going to fighting policies that aren't going to change!
- 1 y
@Sevenpointfive Fighting Trump policies sounds like a good use of money though, especially when he has a track-record and public position of attacking states that he views as against him.
- 1 y
@Syntosi i don't know why you're so against him? i'm not happy with him right now either! but that doesn't mean i'm making it a $50 million problem. california is one of those states that is about to go under. there are others so don't feel alone. and we're talking big cities in big states that will be to blame when republicans win your elections.
- 1 y
@Sevenpointfive California is one of the few states that is actually doing well but that is besides the point. Trump is known for taking revenge and for attacking his political and personal enemies. He has also singled out California in particular such as trying to withhold disaster relief from them. Spending 50 million dollars to counter him is quite frankly just self-defense at that point.
But that is a digression really. The question was why California would spend 50 million dollars on something unrelated when asking for multi billions in fire aid, implying that those 50 million dollars would be important for the fire aid. They are not. 50 million dollars is not an amount that makes a difference in a multi billion dollar problem so "wasting" them on something else is completely irrelevant. - 1 y
the state of california already spent $4 billion on fire aid to build the reservoirs to combat fires. and yet they didn't fill them. they don't get the right to ask for more money. $50 million could fill those reservoirs. it could also build a desalinization plant to do it!
- 1 y
@Sevenpointfive California had records amount of water during the wildfire. It was not a matter of actually running out at any point. The problem was local supply AKA how much water was saved up in the local water towers which provides pressurized water to the fire hydrants. Once the towers are drained you are stuck waiting for water to fill back into the towers and rebuild the pressure.
Also, since we are on the talk of Californias water supplies, Trump ordered the army corps of engineers to release a bunch of the water that California had in its reserves without telling anyone which meant that it risked flooding people and drained away pointlessly when that water was saved up to be used during the summer. Just to highlight how stupid Trumps interference is.
As for the reservoirs? 2 of them were not filled because they were down for maintenance and upgrading. This was planned and did not impact the situation negatively. Again, they had record amounts of water. The water supply was not the issue.
This whole water shortage argument was always complete nonsense. - 1 y
maintenance and upgrading? are you crazy? or blind?
- 1 y
@Sevenpointfive Blind? Are you blind?
https://cww.water.ca.gov/
California is currently at 120% of average and that is AFTER Trump ordered the Army corps of engineers to release 5.5 billion gallons AND fighting its worst wildfire in modern history.
And yes, there is program started long ago that includes upgrading the capacity of two of the reservoirs and building a new one. I know this because I looked into it. You dont because you only repeat things you hear on social media or whatever. One might even call you "blind". - 1 y
this site is the closest thing i come to being considered social media. i have two news outlets that i read to counter each others stories. the in between might be real or not? i wonder why most news is free as well as cable
- 1 y
@Sevenpointfive Strange then that you only believe things that are commonly shared on social media then. Maybe you should read ground news instead? Heard they are pretty decent at exposing bias and such.
- 1 y
it's still hard to decipher truth from fiction on the most trusted news channel. if i read a story, i fact check it with other outlets. if those are trusted i might believe it.
- 1 y
@Sevenpointfive Using other sources to verify is like Ground News whole thing. Would be straight up your alley.

i will check them out. than you for the source

@Sevenpointfive
A million is less than a billion, so waste millions, hummm... - 1 y
@Dongie Lets simplify this for you.
A million is not just less than a billion, its a fraction of a fraction. If you have a problem that requires billions to resolve, as well as 50 million dollars, then trying to use that 50 million dollars to resolve the problem just simply means you no longer have that 50 million. You are still in need of billions from somewhere else either way which would also cover whatever you did with that 50 million and furthermore you can't use that 50 million on something that can actually be resolved with 50 million.
You are using the wrong tool for the wrong job and getting no results back. - 1 y
did you fail math? this is why you will never work in a think tank
- 1 y
@Sevenpointfive The reason why I will never work in a think tank is because I would hate everyone there. It would have nothing to do with math.

Well, here's food for thought symposium. I had read over 500 novels by the time I was in my early 20s. Wrote one book, then got well into non-fiction. Like Einsteins theory and Hawkings momentary mention of time. Carl Sagan, everything he wrote and eased back into fiction.
I've read the Bible old and new testaments, the new 5 or 6 times. Everything John Steinbeck wrote, I read. But your Cornbread adolescent comment is to be expected. Hell, you vote democrat while the nation burns. 😂
1 yyour not trump is off his rocker and democrats tryna decide do we one bad thing or another its not easy but they choose what they belived was the bigger threat and i dont mean currently i mean long term and so fourth

@msc545 I hate trump too and voted against him in the election, but this is a bad and stupid thing for them to do and they should be punished for this. It's a waste of money on something that's going to be enforced with or without help and by refusing to assist they're costing the taxpayers millions. There needs to be an investigation into the governments of New York and California to much shit is going on and going wrong. We don't have time for the democrats to throw a hissy fit because their equally evil party lost. We have bigger problems like being a year or two away from WW3 at absolute best-case scenario. Its bad enough trump is already in office pulling crap like this just wastes money hurts the taxpayers divides the nation and accomplishes nothing. The best thing we can do is grit our teeth and hope the four years pass fast or trump has a heart attack from his diabetes or something.
- 1 y
And the democrats are incompetent week spined pussys wasting millions on shit that doesn't need done, censoring the public, and failing to support our allies enough or show a backbone on the world stage which makes the country look weak and vulnerable. The democrats won't save this country either just look at New York and California it's a cluster fuck because of their policies that have been put in place by a long string of democrat leaders. It's a total shitshow over there! Biden pardoned his son who was found guilty of multiple felony's and rightly so! Both parties fuck the people, both parties rob us, both sensor us, both want to control us, but the reality is the left and right are smoke screens. The only party in America is the 1% party and this division is going to cause a civil war and kill the country if this keeps up long enough! Governing is about choosing lesser evils and hard decisions. Biden was a weak coward that shit himself every time Putin through a tantrum and even I could tell his brains were goo by the time he started his 3rd year. I voted for Kamila for 2 reasons. 1. She wasn't Trump. 2. She was young enough to remember what she had for breakfast. I didn't vote because I had any confidence in the democrats or Kamila she was the lesser evil and that's how polotics operate and the democrats constantly shy away from those responsabilities and making hard descions all the time. They aren't the party of the people like they claim they're the party of the pussy and the republicans are the party of the overcompensating for insecurity in the worst ways. The republicans just rob you more than the democrats but they both are robbing and oppressing us. I don't care who is oppressing me, I care that I'm being oppressed in the first place.
