Are Trump and Musk likely to follow court orders, or defy them?

I know they will appeal, but what will happen if their appeals are also denied - will they ignore the Court's orders or comply?

Trump and Musk are individuals. Trump doesn't do anything but paperwork. The question is whether other people in the executive branch will follow them or the courts. The most Trump can do is try to fire executive branch employees who refuse his orders. But that is also subject to oversight from Congress and the court. There will be special elections for three House seats. If the Democrats can sweep, they will take over control of the House and Trump will find things much more difficult. We can only hope.

Trump has council. He'll follow if counsel advises him to. This would be any president. But most presidents has at least some basis in law. And most presidents care about public perception. Trump only cares about the perception of Trump voters.

I predict that counsel will advise him and he will not listen to their advice, as he has not done in the past. He is too arrogant and narcissistic to follow advice that conflicts with his own impulses toward defiance. Moreover, his followers see him as a "tough guy" (which is part of his appeal), and if nothing else he will be loathed to interfere with that perception, false as in reality it probably is, ie, if he complies with court orders that are unpopular with MAGA, he will lose at least some standing with his followers. He knows this and I predict he will behave accordingly no matter the cost since I think he believes that he derives his power from his following. He is not wrong in this belief.

He may, but he's not going to do it to the point that he ends up in jail. Which part of me thinks he will. But only AFTER he's out of office. At that point he has ONLY his voice for the Republican party. And I think the Republican party as long as they don't think it'll lose them too many votes will turn on Trump and throw him to the wolves. I think the establishment (both Republicans and dummycrats) have to. Lest another of great rises to follow in Trumps steps.

There is no way that anyone is going to arrest the US President or Musk. The only police available to the federal courts are the US Marshall, and they report to the Justice Department which in turn reports to Trump. It will not happen - after all, he supposedly has immunity for almost everything.

defy. trump is immune from everything and he can simply pardon musk... and will... like the guy before him did for family and friends.

this is now absolute power... per the supreme court. we've eroded into this...

congress could try to impeach on those grounds, but don't have the votes.

They will appear to comply while developing work-arounds while they appeal.
In reality, the federal courts have no final authority over the Executive Branch unless SCOTUS rules something Unconstitutional. That's where the orders are headed.

Trump will get impatient and just ignore these court orders. Trump controls the DOJ and he will not get arrested. Once they have some real corruption at the upper levels of government is revealed these court orders will stop.
