Pushed NATO to it's border, then pushed for Ukraine to join NATO which was always a red line for Russia. In 2014 we carried out a CIA backed coup overthrowing Ukraine's government which led to the bombing of ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine. We also sabotaged a peace agreement mediated by Turkey that would have ended the war in exchange for Ukraine remaining neutral and the government recognizing the Russian language which many eastern Ukrainians speak.
