What would count as Junk food? Coca cola says Diet coke is healthy, but Peppsi is junk food. And look the head of food stamps just happens to be a "former" Coke board member. I don't know who the head of that department is, but that's how this stuff works.

But, lets say we could magically eliminate all corruption. Then poor people will just use more of their limited funds to by junk. Sure they will still buy healthy food too, but I don't think you will lower the consumption of junk food at all.

I believe in natural selection. Those on public assistance should not be getting alcohol, cigarettes, and the like. Otherwise, if people want to kill themselves eating a crap diet, drinking and smoking at home to excess, or doing generally stupid things that have a good likelihood of resulting in death (such as following Trump’s suggestion to drink bleach to prevent getting sick during Covid), then let them have at it. We need less stupid in the world.

I think healthy food should be more affordable to people on snap as should an education that teaches people how to feed themselves with nutrition.

Also, you've probably seen people not on snap also buy fucking candy and cookies so I'm not sure what snap has to do with it

Say what you want but cookies and candy is very important for a healthy life, in that it gives enjoyment. Living a purely subsistence lifestyle where you only do the requirements for survival is inhuman.

The healthy food are too expensive for them to afford. They can't buy organic chicken or vegetables that are high quality. I buy organic plant-based milk with no additives at all for $50 every two weeks. A person on benefits can't afford that.
