Food stamps are akin to unemployment insurance. They help keep you and your family alive while you are in a financial bind. It's all part of "United We Stand" because the alternative is "Divided We Fall" and when people cannot legally find a way to survive within a society, they will find an illegal way to do so which means they commit crimes.

That doesn't mean we should be held hostage to the poor, but we need to help them stay alive and get on their feet so 1) they can fend for themselves and 2) be legally contributing members of society.

It's a way to ensure support for people that... failed. it's better than the option.

But should control and limit what they can have. I've seen that around me where people get free food, but it isn't that great. so they are motivated to go get $ to get something better. people have to have motivation.

food stamps though can be very wasteful if can be used for junk or drugs and such.

There's enough billionaires and multi-millionaires in the world that, if they'd all pool their money together and give everyone in this country 2 million, they'd never even miss what they gave up and then, they could abolish food stamps... except for the dipshits that squandered it all as fast as they got it!

Every dollar spent on helping kids get food gives 3 dollars back to the government. It is clear cut best investment government dollars can make.
