To end drug addiction, homelessness, poverty, it starts with caring about people. Ads about how bad drugs are are naive as hell. We live in a world run by naive and crazy people. The scary part is it's a democracy and still nobody has the sense to care.

You get food banks in the uk and in winter some supermarket cafes do free soup and roll meals for pensioners. I don't think food is unaffordable to most people but I think there is a need for the social side of dining and government subsidised cafes could be a solution.

I think a lot of these things would just let parents quit jobs and the number on Welfare would continue to increase and one's eligible for SNAP benefits would increase.
