Constantly giving people things for free will never help them get the confidence they need to succeed and improve. Growing up I could have had free lunch. My mom was broke as fuck. But she made sacrifices and made sure we had lunch. And there's a pride element to it. With the public assistance people receive, they can afford a loaf of bread, some meat or PB&J, an apple or grapes, and some sort of side.

You don’t know what a child’s family has going on and for all you know a child may not be getting their needs met even though their parents are making enough. And yes you can blame the parents but that still doesn’t change the situation for the innocent child. We are talking about the govnerment’s assumption of a child’s needs being met based off of income. Just because a parent makes decent income , doesn’t mean they are providing right for their child and that shouldn’t fall on an innocent child

Because those aren’t sources for neglectful parents, they are resources for low income parents. Two different things. You can argue with me about this all you want, but I’m in the dietetics field and we learn about these programs. And assuming low income parents only have the ability to be neglectful is arrogant.

Social services will more likely only provide for kids with low income. Social services will take a child away if a parent deemed unfit but it’s a big cycle and it doesn’t change the fact that a kid may not be receiving lunch. The fact that you can’t fork up money to benefit a kid shows how unrich character you have. Extremists are absolutely ridiculous sometimes

Absolutely do support it. School lunches get super expensive to low income people and a child getting a free meal is way better than a child starving and not being able to perform well in school.
