Why People confuse Crossdresser with transgender?

I am a Crossdresser, I like to wear makeup, women's clothes, heels etc.. But there are plenty of people who tell me "you'll never be a woman". Totally ridiculous comments because I've never claimed to be a woman.

The education regarding anything outside of the gender binary is very difficult to access, if not outright banned in some places. That creates the ignorance that makes such comments.

There's no confusion. You like to pretend to be a woman, which is essentially what trans people do. You just do it in a different, less permanent way.

Right but if you grow up seeing what men wear and women wear and you look at women and think “I want to look like that” then essentially that’s wanting to be a woman, however I do think it depends because I think just wearing a skirt or dress can be a cool fashion statement but putting on a wig, makeup, heals, etc. shows a deeper want or feeling not that there’s anything wrong with that.
