Why can't millennials and Gen Z take their jobs seriously?

I have realized this world is wacko mess. Yesterday I had a 22 year old supposed adult but with the mindset of a 5 Year old. Now this employee scream at a customer along doing gang movements with his hands I could hear him from across other side of the store yelling F U B I T C H I'm a gangsta yeah. I did not hesitate to demand him to come at the office I apologize to the customer I believe customers do pay our bills and without them the business disappears. The customer was upset and she had each and every right to do so. It is insane that Gen Z think work is a daycare. I shouldn't have to be babysitting so called little adults. I had no choice but to fired his ass on the spot. Such immature behavior yet he still thinks he is in highschool one employee told me he was working on wanting to be popular at work. Are you kidding me? Work is business not a daycare or a preschool. This generation gone far from worst. Apparently Gen Z do not have no business skills whatsoever.

World of free speech and self entitlement. Thing is, there's a lot of talk about being who you are and screw if others don't like it. This is good advice in some contexts. Like if you are trans or bi or want to dress goth or have a poly relationship instead of monogamous. We encourage people to stand up for themselves and not take shit.

But in life sadly there is a hierarchy. And a necessary one. This means being professional and leaving parts of your personal life at home. I guess young ones need to learn this. Not all. We all have different personalities and maturity levels. So I doubt this is limited to millenials and Gen Z.

You did right in firing the guy. Whatever happens next to him - struggles to pay bills etc - will maybe be the lesson he needs. And maybe that was just the wrong environment for him too anyways. Maybe he would be better off in a factory without customer focused care. I don't know... but well you did both him and the business a favour so no loss.

It is only a short-term problem. Such behavior will speed up the upcoming economic collapse, which will be followed by a five—to twenty-year-long depression during which the unemployment rates will soar. Then governments can no longer dictate the conditions that employers can hire and fire because that will result in bankruptcies that reduce tax money.

Then when someone doesn't do his job, he will be told, a dozen people are living on a cracker a day, are just waiting for your job. Gen Z guy here. We can take our jobs seriously, but there are bad apples in every bunch 🤷‍♂️ And sometimes that's more due to the older people then anyone else (no offense meant).

E. G. I was a general manager at 19 and the business took off immediately. Every employee there ranged from 16-22 years old. We did great. And then the (boomer) regional manager and forced an AM on us who was terrible. Long story short, I caught her dealing drugs to a minor but the regional manager didn't care so me and most of the crew quit and now the business is losing approximately a thousand dollars a day.

And when I was their age (in the 1980's) the old folks back then were saying that my generation didn't take work seriously. This isn't new. The older generations always think that young people aren't trying hard enough, that they're spoilt and selfish. It's just bias, and perhaps envy as well because they're not young anymore.

Have you heard of the phrase "taxation is adversary by nature." So with the right to work mentality being the standard the worker is adversary to the employer in the same fashion.

I work for a place for 10 years and gather 10 years of sick and broke my ankle. They try to cheat me out of my earned benefits of 10 fucking years till I hired a lawyer then rolled over.

That's when I learn I have to fight for every cent I earn. That's what the company does already so fuck them.

Company wants loyalty the company needs to give some loyalty. The company is giving the minimum to workers they are now getting the minimum of workers.

Funny we don't have this type of behavior in Generation X men I bought new furniture the guy which he happened to be in his late 40s he thank me we shake hands and he told me it was great making business with you. Now that's great customer service.

I didn’t go to college, but I’m just as successful as anyone. I’m married, have kids, a career with a pension, I support my family so my wife can stay home. Sometime young people gotta fail to get off their butts
