The increase mainly reflected a $96.0 billion increase in the position from Canada and an $86.1 billion increase from Europe, primarily a $58.9 billion increase from Germany.” Re importance of 🇺🇸-Europe economic ties.

And importance for 🇺🇸 defense industrial base.

🇺🇸 has 18 Allies in the program.

12 of 18 are in Europe (66.6%).

And incl some of largest orders eg 🇬🇧 🇮🇹 🇫🇮 etc.

Singapore’s order was tiny. And Israel is the largest US foreign aid recipient of 🇺🇸 Allies and the only F35 member to receive any meaningful amount of foreign aid from 🇺🇸 ie 🇺🇸 taxdollars pay for all the F35s bought by IAF (and more).

So out of foreign countries that financially contribute to the F35 program, there’s 17. 16 if deduct singapore.

12 of the 16 are in Europe.

Other key 4 supporting the program are Japan, Australia, South Korea & Canada.

The F35 export market & financial stream are very heavily dependent on Europe.

Correction: 19 foreign F35 program members. 13/19 are European.
