Because Ukraine is running out of manpower. The Russian are dug in and every Ukrainian offensive has ended in huge loses and defeat. If the war lasted 20 years and Ukrainians started right now breeding the next generation of Ukrainian soldiers they still won't win.

You are describing Russia. There are no 18 year olds drafted in Ukraine, the drafting age is 25. It was 27 and was lowered to 25 in 2024 to ensure enough soldiers are there for training.

@DryGermanGuy you sure? That’s not what all the videos show online as well as the documentaries that I watched a couple days ago. I’m pretty sure Russia doesn’t have a man power issue like Ukraine, especially w the size of their country. Watch the documentaries on how they’re patrolling the borders because so many men are trying to escape from Ukraine or trying to get a medical waiver to avoid military conscription. According to the journalist it’s gotten so bad that there’s actually doctors selling “white cards” for up to $4000 to these men to avoid service. But maybe you’re right. Maybe the 5 documentaries I stayed up watching till 3 am were all fake. Maybe the men they interviewed living in Brighton Beach, NY who said they escaped from Ukraine to avoid be drafted were lying as well.

Maybe all these Ukrainian men they’re interviewing are lying that they’re being snatched up off the streets. But I doubt that. I’d believe it might be false if it was just one documentary, but to have numerous documentaries as well as numerous videos of Ukrainian men verifying this? No, I doubt that they’re lying. Sure the current age may be 25, but right now w the amount of men dying. They don’t have the man power to only take men ages 25 and up.
