Next year the United States of America will be 250 years old. What do you see in store for the United States next 250 years?

It got me to thinking through history empires have risen and fallen. The Roman empire lasted for over a 1000 years. But not all that time was it really an empire. And it was only a republic for about 500.

Now I'm not trying to get into a debate about what America is or isn't. I'm not suggesting that we're no longer going to be a republic. And I'm not criticizing nor plugging this administration. I'm simply making an observation no empire lasts forever or stays constant forever and by that measure America is likely no different. Times change, the world changes, ergo America will inevitably change.

What do you see for us for the 250 years.

President Trump has headed off an armed uprising that would have occurred if the election was stolen again. Leftist will never admit that Donald Trump has saved the country from ruin by having been elected and changing things that needed to be changed.

My view is that Republicans will retain control through JD Vance's first term. I think during that time, Democrats are going to go through an identity crisis And will come out the other end much more like Truman Democrats back in the 1950s. The leftist Socialist theology will continue to fail them until they change it.

Republicans may gradually get corrupted by their success and it will be up to Democrats to become more populist and slide in beneath them retaining the hearts of Middle America. If they don't do that, like the Whigs before them, they are finished.

Had this selected somebody that was center left like Jay Johnson for candidacy of president in 2024 they would have at least created doubt in the minds of some Republicans paving the way for possible change in the future but they did not instead they picked nut balls.

I think the world in itself has seen so much change in the last 250 years and that the change we will see in the next 250 will eclipse it like a bonfire would a candle.

Nevermind USA, I woild be shocked if the entire world was not vastly different in 250 years. Even in our lifetime we are seeing a crazy amount of shifts. AI is here to stay. Technology is advancing at unprecedented speeds and accelerating. Our productivity has long passed the point of being able to provide everyone alive a comfortable life and we will likely have to tackle notions like universal income within a generation or two.

USA at a short term is incredibly interesting. Having only recently lost its throne as the defacto economic superpower to Europe. Now about to lose it to BRICS, soon China. Make no mistake, USA will (absent Trump doing more Trump things) remain a superpower. But going from No.1 to No.3 in the next decade will in itself be very difficult.

Currently I see civil war and violence. America will be on its own. Friends will rapidly become enemies since America is no longer trustworthy. The USA economy will crash due to no markets to sell their goods due to isolation. Even the military industrial complex will fail since Europe , Great Britain, Canada, Japan and so on will buy their weapons else where. The rest of the democratic world will just hope the USA does not incinerate the world with its nukes. Unless the USA turns away from the present nationalism and populism and returns to the fundamentals of its Constitution I see a decline in to more fear and hatred.

I think that we will have expanded further into the world having territories in Greenland and the middle east. We will also be colonizing Mars and Venus.
