Judges are not elected, they are appointed and then approved by the Senate. James Boasberg was appointed by President Obama in 2010.

A judge is part of the judicial branch of government and an important part of the checks and balances. If a judge makes a wrong decision there is an appeals process. Elon isn't a branch of government. He was appointed by the executive branch and he can be removed for any reason at any time and his decisions are subject to checks and balances from the judicial system. Unelected Elon is making policies that are affecting Americans.
