Is it appropriate for a foreigner to visit a country and make a fool of themselves disrespecting their culture?

In my opinion if you aren’t a citizen of that country then you are just considered a GUEST, so with that being said why would people want to disrespect the culture and citizens of said country, by doing things that disrupt the culture and way things are commonly done?

It's baffling to me how some foreigners can push their behaviour onto those who really don’t deserve to be pushed around. Especially for an outsider to begin with..

It's pretty much like you said in your update. They're doing it for clout. Some people have such a warped view of themselves that they think they are entitled to do anything for attention.

Most of the time people can't be bothered because of how dumb it all is. But sometimes, they underestimate the social structure of the places they try to do it in.

Like that moron who went out of his way to be as disrespectful as possible in South Korea, which is one of the few places on earth where society deals with problematic people before the authorities do. They used their socials to track him and beat him down before the authorities indicted him.

So many Americans keep "The Ugly American" image alive. They go to a foreign country and act as though the hosts should feel privileged that they are there. They expect the hosts to understand English and often yell at them if they do not as if that would help them understand English. I have gotten amazing assistance if I learn even a small bit of their language and try to use it. I have also seen the local police try to help Americans avoid trouble like bad areas and the Americans give them grief the attitude that they know more than the police and will do what they want. Now even being on your best in those countries will not help as Trump is turning all countries (except Russia) against America.

If you're visiting someone’s country, you’re a guest... so basic respect isn’t too much to ask... nd also different cultures have different ways of life, nd trying to force your own habits onto them is just rude... ae little effort to understand and respect traditions goes a long way. 🤍

Well the US, Europe, Russia and even China to a degree have been pushing their culture onto other countries and cultures for a long time. They've also brought technology to share and build and developed trade and prosperity so if you aren't into "sharing" what you have and know with the world then you're a bit of an AH so there's that.

I agree but people who are travelling to other countries with true curiosity and adventuring don't do such things. They admire what they see as they are. I saw a clip where a youtuber gives a tribes man some cola and records their reactions but what happens to thier daily diet afterthat they can't comprehend what if they start a epidemic on that tribe.

It's routine for Americans since we are notorious for being monolingual. I've traveled a lot so I can get by fairly well in French, Spanish, German a bit of Turkish.
