How do you feel about traveling abroad. Do you feel you are not treated well or with respect by the people in the country you visited?

I like traveling, but am not fond of those I have at times contacted in other countries in Europe.

ALSO, Not fond of the contacts I made in Hawaii (one of our states) and I found some Canadians hostile? Had a loud conflict with a fat Canadian when I was in London and EVEN HIS WIFE berated HIM for his loud disrespectful mouth.

One time in Hawaii, I was damn near knocked over in the isle of a store by a tub of lard fat assed Samoan. Had I my Pepper Stray, I would have sprayed the fat ass.

I hear others do not like France. I found the French people to be the kindest, most accepting people I ever met abroad.

I thought London 'SUCKED" from the attitude I got from the British, but others on GAG said that was not the attitude of many in England and that London was not a good place to form judgments of the British and that i should have gone to outlying areas away from London.

Several FRIENDS here on GAG, said that I got a BAD FIRST IMPRESSION of LONDONERS, AND I HAVE TO BELIEVE THEM.

In Germany in July, I did not feel "welcome' by the people on the street, but THEN I was really a foreigner since I do not speak German.

How do you feel about traveling out of the country as an American?

As an American, I would always get charged a "tourist rate" in many places in Canada and Europe. In most cases it was more things like people deliberately scamming/overcharging me just because I'm an American. It had more to do with people thinking I have money than racism.

The first time I truly experienced racism/discrimination was in Taiwan. If I start getting into the details I'll be here forever, but basically, East Asians see anyone who isn't Asian as inferior and unworthy of equal treatment. While they don't like other Asians either, they'll still treat them better than other races.

In Curaçao I had kids stare at me like they'd never seen a White person before. In Grenada it was also obvious that half the population hates White people/Americans. They don't like you going outside the tourist places or riding their busses. They would straight up laugh at you and mock you and charge you more.

And recently, I've been experiencing discrimination in Latin American countries. It was the same kind of thing as in Taiwan, they see themselves as superior to White people and prioritize their own race first. As soon as you're the only White person in a tour group, the Latino clients are suddenly running the tour. Even in Spain, it was us and one Indian family and the Jewish tour guide was kissing their asses.

And in Turkey we were with Russian tour groups and some of the Russians would openly talk shit about Americans.

I definitely felt most uncomfortable/unwelcome in Taiwan and it made me want to never visit another Oriental country. I don't black and Latino countries anymore either. In the Caribbean, I'll only visit the European islands now and Latin America I won't be returning to for a while unless it's Argentina, Uruguay or Brazil where there's White people.

Traveling has made me realize I feel most comfortable around White Christian people.

I think English and French people get a bad rap because of London and Paris. Almost every British person I've met has been super nice. One gave us a free ride on Grand Cayman and on Barbados two had our backs when the locals were trying to extort money/keep our change.

French/Quebecers too. I might've come across a few douchebags online, but aside from that, I've also found them to be the most polite, humble, courteous, pleasant and respectful people I've ever met. Can't say the same for the Italians and Germans. And France is the only country I know that doesn't have "tourist rates". And I always remember the Indian YouTuber who got denied a Schengen visa by the Swiss because her itinerary wasn't clear, and the French said she should've applied through them, 'cuz they didn't see that as an issue.

In general, I find that as long as you approach someone politely, most people are very nice to you in other countries. Of course, I’m white and my experience can only apply to other white people. Foreign experiences differ for black americans. Italy is apparently super insanely racist.

I love It. Im multilingual though which helps. I've had some incidents and scuffles in bars, but the same can certainly be said of the states!
