For an administrative job, executive experience is more important than legislative experience. Business and economic experience are also more important than legislative experience.

The party chose a leader to replace Trudeau but he can't sit in Parliament until he's elected. Currently he is only a figurehead which is why he called an election. Seems very democratic to me
